I can't stop listening to Patrick Hernandez-Born To Be Alive. I was listening to a play list on youtube and this one came on, and I think I've heard it somewhere else over the years but not properly and it's just a really happy foot tapper. I defy you to not to move, not necessarily dance, just move.

Sorry Prof, but I absolutely hate that song. I hated it when it first came out.

I first heard bits of this on the Old Grey Whistle Test. I especially like "Crossing the Line" at about 8:09.

Sorry Prof, but I absolutely hate that song. I hated it when it first came out. Nooooooo! I love it, I can't stop singing "Borrrrn. Borrrrn. Borrrrn. Born to be alive."...I don't know the rest of the words though so it's getting a bit samey! 😄

I have been enjoying this song, by Got a Girl (Mary Elizabeth Winstead from Fargo and Dan the Automator).

Some of his stuff is really an acquired taste, but there is a lot of good stuff. I first heard of him just as I was entering University; he had been on television for something that he had been doing. Later he did music for The Man Who Fell to Earth and The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, but that wasn't really his main stuff. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stomu_Yamashta

Thanks. Already been on Amazon to look at his albums.
As this thread says, "What are you listening to?" --
I looked next to my stereo and at present there are three CDs there, "The Ragpickers Dream" by Mark Knopfler. "A rush of Blood to the Head" by Coldplay (I asked for this for Christmas from my son, as I had never heard it before although I have others of theirs) and "You Mean the World to Me" by a man called Jonas Kaufmann - he is a German classical singer but this CD is of popular songs of yesteryear in the movies.
As far as the radio is concerned, I'm always tuned to either Radio2, Mellow Magic, or Classic FM. Not in any particular order, and interchangeable as far as I'm concerned.

I listened to A Rush Of Blood To The Head after the song was used in the trailer for Six Feet Under (huge fan) and I watched that trailer so much that I ended up buying the album just for the song. I also like Politik, The Scientist, Clocks and In My Place.

I love The Scientist. It describes a certain time in my life really well.

That "Born to Be Alive" is a real ear worm!! It so is! I put youtube on to start some background music, which I do while I'm reading and looking at stuff on the net, and I thought "oh go on" and played it again!...it then went into I Will Survive and YMCA so I'm thinking this is a bit of a gay dance floor classic.
