I enjoyed it but found it hard to follow. When they focussed their attention on Lee, I was saying "who on earth is Lee?" . Strangely, I thought it was one of the easier ones to keep up with! Much as I love Vera, I often have trouble keeping everyone and everything that happens in mind.

It didn't make sense to me. The boy missed his final exams because he wanted to give the fella a piece of his mind... on that particular day. Why?
And the ex-wife had been to the house early evening and there was no-one there, so where was the boy? If he was there later on then why did he have to miss his exam?

Ah! Glad it's not just me that spotted that plot-hole! I was confused about the timeline all the way through so assumed it was just me getting it wrong.

I really enjoyed this weeks. I love it when I have no idea who the murderer is but when we get to the reveal there's an Ah! moment. As in 'Ahhh! Of course!'

It was good this week....very sad too I thought. I had tears in my eyes during the explanation in the hospital ward.

Yes sad. They did speak to him in hospital after what I presume was his suicide attempt, they didn't read him his rights or record it and it left me wondering if there would have been any charges at all laid against him. What a horrible bloke his actual dad was.

It does go to show how using DNA testing kits and tracing your birth family as a result without the help of properly trained, professional councellors (a la Long Lost Family) can be very hazardous for everyone concerned.

Completely forgot it was on.
Oh well. No doubt it will turn up on ITV3 at some point.

This week's had a sad ending as well. That poor girl. As for that Jasmine! I think sometimes the killing is less than murder and it would be good to know what people were charged with. The girl liked the victim, he was a close family friend. The sister's death had had such a profound effect on them all that when she found out the truth and his involvement she lost it.

The girl liked the victim, he was a close family friend. The sister's death had had such a profound effect on them all that when she found out the truth and his involvement she lost it. And like last week, the blow was never intended to kill the victim. In that respect it was a horrible accident but I am guessing it would be charged as manslaughter. I nearly got the perpetrator right this week....I thought it was the father. In Vera I always work on the principle of it being the least likely character and I thought that would be him but I hadn't allowed for his daughter who hardly featured until near the reveal!

Looking back on it though, the daughter was really upset when she heard he'd died. I thought it was just cos they were friends but now we know it was more than that.

Well.I knew it had to be about the girl who fell off the cliff and they were all hiding something, but I thought Jasmine's mother was going to be involved in the cover up.
Some incredibly bad accents last night, sometimes it's quite hard to concentrate and there's rarely any variation across the vast region Vera covers.

I have enjoyed the last two episodes particularly.
One thing that always winds me up is when the armed police turn up.The Sgt holding his hands up and saying "Hang on". They have their own training, and responsibilities and specialise in situation assessment and do not take instructions from some DS hiding behind a car.
Also the armed copper leading the perp away at the end was wearing thick, milk bottle glasses, I think the least you want from an armed SWAT team is the ability to see properly. Mr Magoo's not getting a gun.

Vera is getting an expanded run.
ITV have announced that the show’s eleventh series, which was commissioned back in January, will consist of six feature-length episodes. Vera‘s first ten series each consisted of four feature-length episodes.
The first two episodes will commence filming this autumn and will wrap in December, ahead of a 2021 broadcast on ITV. The remaining four episodes will film in 2021 for broadcast in 2022.
