I won't say what happened but {SPOILER:Click to Show}Why would Charlie carry his box out after such a nasty wound. I had to not carry anything heavy for a couple of months after my op. How long after the incident was the final scene?

Quite some time later, but I don't know for sure. A fair bit of time must have passed though. A great episode, I thought, I was very happy with the ending.

I thought it was very underwhelming, I’m afraid, given the significance of the episode. End of an era, yet modern Charlie was barely in it!!!!! Well not conscious anyway. I didn’t like Annette Badland channelling Aunt Babe from EE. And since when did Stevie and Charlie have this connection? I mean she has been talking about pipe bombs recently yet we heard nothing about this meeting. It seemed a bit of a plot device to me. Young Charlie did a pretty good job though. I think Charlie deserved an extended episode because there were a lot of strands for 50minutes, plus the farewell long shot, which was lovely and I did well up then. I read on digispy that the guy he hands the box to is Oscar, the longest serving character.. a porter played by an extra, and the guy in scrubs that he hugged is Paul Salt, the medical consultant who has been there since episode 1.
Another one who pisses me off is Teddy. When he was moaning about how alienated he was from various people, I wondered if it didn’t occur to him that his love life went down the tubes because he shagged a colleague. And Jan may have felt disaffected because he reported her to the police because of Gethin’s trip to Dignitas meaning he lost his beloved Uncle… an uncle for whom he did nothing, leaving all the caring to Jan.
Amazingly though, I read that Derek Thompson has got a new acting job! I assumed he was retiring along with Charlie, especially as irl he suffers from some syndrome which makes you very stiff and unable to move easily. He is in the next series of Blue Lights, the rather good police series.

Do any of you know what was done about Charlie's brain aneurysm? I don't know if it was just casually mentioned that time a while back or did I miss an episode in which he had it coiled or had the full-on craniotomy and clipping? Mine was a big operation and a very long recovery. Maybe Charlie's is just being monitored?

I suspect it was quietly forgotten. I certainly don’t remember any major surgery and recovery, although of course it is off air a few times per year, and a lot can happen in those convenient breaks!

Well, Rash is a bundle of insecurities isn’t he? I mean, obviously we are supposed to feel sympathy for the guy but it wouldn’t give you a lot of confidence if he was your doctor would it?
And please don’t say this is building up to Dylan’s departure!! We can’t be left with this decidedly unpleasant new guy and prickly Stevie as the Consultants can we?
I do like the new nurse Ngozi and the doctor who is currently a surrogate though.

Ah, I feel for Rash, I really do. I want to mother him. I love Ngozi and the new pregnant doctor too and I'm really hoping Dylan doesn't leave, he's another one I'd like to mother.

I would like to know if the new Max just appeared or was introduced. Also how did Rash’s cousin suddenly get a job in the emergency team

The new Max just appeared out of the blue. I can remember no discussion about him. Ditto Rash’s cousin. He appeared in one episode and next thing was on the staff. You would think he might have mentioned to Rash, “oh by the way I’ve applied for a job at Holby! Have you got a spare room I could rent whilst I sought myself out?” But no, he just appears and then Rash has to offer a room as he has accommodation problems. Cart. Horse.

I have recently watched the episodes when Nigel Harman appeared and I think he says he was going to work at St James Hospital and he was asked to go to Holby City as they didn't have a clinical lead at the time.

Oh No! Surely this must be a misdirection. I hope Dylan hasn’t actually left, after being undermined by this horrible new boss. ☹️

I doubt it. After all it was only a few weeks ago that Max left. I think it will be an ongoing storyline which will be favourably resolved.

That was an interesting episode, using scenes from the undercover documentary. I wonder who the whistle blower is. I had thought Rida, but then they said “this is the best team I have ever worked with”. So that must mean someone with a few years’ experience. So Siobhan? Or are they making that a bit obvious? Rash seems very cynical and angry at the moment.
I was pleased to see fledgling signs of Dylan and Stevie preparing to act against the ghastly Patrick, who seems happy to let his junior doctor Tariq do whatever procedure he wants. Still that couldn’t go wrong could it? Tariq needs a dose of humility I reckon, too cocky by half.

I'm thinking it was Siobhan too. She is fairly new and we haven't seen her do much nursing!
