Yes it was all very convoluted. You'd think Dodds would have checked with his own priest about this guy from the diocese suddenly arriving to talk to him. It was all very casual outside the church.
I thought it was him but couldn't work out why.

I wondered how the killer had found out about Dodds needing a Catholic divorce? Also how Dodds did not wonder why he hadn’t seen that priest before, given that appeared to be his regular church? However all in all very enjoyable! Next week we appear to have “Murder in Provence” starring Roger Allam, what’s not to like! I've seen it. It's awful. Some very fine actors wasted on some absolutely awful writing. Only worth watching for the scenery.

That’s disappointing, but I will still watch it for the scenery and Roger Allam

I've heard positive reports from others. I will certainly give it a go.

I too thought Father Luton looked ridiculously young and assumed it was the son, especially as he clearly looked so different after a bit of weight loss that nobody who had seen him before could recognise him.
Also looking forward to Murder in Provence for the scenery if nothing else. It will give me that summer vibe like Montalbano always does, without suffering the heat or the need to travel.

The criminal was supposed to be a sort of IT genius and the arrest was 5 years earlier - just before (I think) MI5 were going to "fast track him to Cambridge".
So he could have been just 17/18 then - and 23 or there abouts when he began his revenge.
