Tuesday (28th) To Friday (31st) at 8pm.
Chris Packham, Michaela Strachen, Gillian Burke and Iolo Williams return to broadcast live from the Cairngorms. I enjoy these seasonal programmes, and am a fan of all the presenters so I will definitely be watching.

Red squirrels, otters, wild cat kittens, an overload of cuteness was assured. I admire the lady who wants to repopulate other parts of Scotland with red squirrels. Didn't know the grey squirrels carried a fatal disease for the reds though.
I love Natural History programmes, it allows us to see and visit places you would normally never be able to afford to go and see. Looking forward to tonight's visit.

Panda eyes, indeed. They are in a very beautiful part of Scotland. I really enjoy it and learn new things.

I was aware of that being a major reason for the reds' decline, but I didn't know that greys grab all the acorns which is why they out-compete reds in deciduous woodland.
At the risk of becoming unpopular - I liked Martin, and hesitated to accept Gillian at first, but I have to say I prefer her now she's "bedded in".

Gillian is OK. They all seem settled in their roles, now, but they must all have wondered about whether they could suddenly be for the chop, too.
The Cairngorms look pretty chilly at this time of year - I'd rather they all sat around a blazing log fire though, than outside!!

New series start on Tuesday (19th) at 8 pm.
Micheala is stranded in South Africa, Chris is at home in the New Forest, Gillian in Cornwall, and Iolo in Wales. With spawning salmon, white fronted geese, and the seal pups from Autumnwatch, plenty to enjoy.

At last! a reason to watch television. Great start to the new series. A soap bubble in the snow, turning into a snow globe, fantastic. I didn't know Michaela lived in South Africa, that was news to me. Beautiful shots of robins, red squirrels, and badgers, of course.Plenty of rain for the presenters to talk in. Starlings roosting under Aberystwyth Pier was a new one on me. 15,000-20,000 birds, definitely no room to social distance. The guest presenter, 15 year old Indie Green is a natural presenter, with his love of barn owls, goshawks, and crossbills, and a great photographer as well. Looking forward to the rest of the series.

Loving this series. I prefer it when the presenters are in different locations. More interesting. I feel sorry for them with all the rain though. Last night we were introduced to the Violet Bubble Snail. Lives under water. A beautiful delicate creature. Also in last night's show were Goose barnacles, and Moon jellyfish.

Also Barnacle geese, and Gillian was at times getting mixed up between the two!
I always thought a Portuguese Man o' War was just another species of jellyfish, and was astonished to learn that not only is it not a jellyfish, but it isn't even a single creature. It's made up of a number of separate creatures, each with its own specialised function which contributes to the organism as a whole.
