Tuesday (15th) at 10.30 pm. A Brass Band Wonderland
A concert featuring Fairey Band and Hackney Colliery Band. I haven't heard of either of them, but I do like a bit of Brass.
Sunday (20th) at 12 noon, The Nutcracker, with The Royal Ballet.

A Classic Christmas, I forgot it was on . Repeated on Saturday (19th), at 12.30 pm. Will have an early lunch and watch it then. Danny Baker's Christmas Hits. Thought I'd seen it before. Not too bad.

The Importance of Being Miriam
I only watched ten minutes, gosh it was boring! She sang a lot of music hall songs to begin with, that was it for me. I changed channels. It went on until 1.15 am.

I recorded and watched last night the film of Queen and Adam Lambert. I enjoyed it. Don’t know if the neighbours enjoyed my singing though!

A Classic Christmas. With the chorus and Orchestra of the English National opera. Obviously recorded pre-Covid. A wonderful 90 minutes of fantastic seasonal music. From O Little Town Of Bethlehem ( I didn't know the music was composed by Vaughn Williams) to The Shepherd's Farewell: Berlioz, to the Ayou Sisters (piano and violin, shamed to say I haven't heard of them), to Leroy Anderson. It was a lovely start to the Christmas festivities.Hosted by Charlotte Hawkings

I am watching my recording of The Eagles at the LA Forum. I have enjoyed it, and they have Deacon Frey playing in his father Glenn’s place. There seem to be quite a lot of people in The Eagles in fact in this concert! The only trouble is I am now at 2hr 11m out if 3hrs and they STILL haven’t played Desperado ☹️.

Great musicians and songwriters for sure. And the band, even with its largen ensemble size and lots of turnover in support players is very very tight.
I have always found the Eagles a bit wooden plank as stage performers aside from Joe Walsh however. I expect any of them to yawn or glance down at their watch at any moment.
They are not a real compelling "watch" as far as rock bands go. I do very much prefer hearing them live over the studio records though. So a concert performance I would have on in the background whilst I did things around the flat.

Sky Arts broadcast the 2018 version of Jesus Christ Superstar this evening. I recorded, but couldn't wait to see it so am watching it now. It has John Legend as Jesus. Didn't recognise any other actors apart from Alice Cooper as Herod. Can't believe I hadn't even heard of this version. Recorded in Brooklyn in 2018, it's very pleasing so far.

At one point I counted seven guitarists in a straight line across the front of the stage, just playing away in less than couture clothing. However, I found that rather refreshing! Or at least a bit of a change from some of the whizz bang stage shows you see these days. Stripped back! A bit like Strictly this year, lol.

That was on NBC here on Easter Sunday the last couple of years. Mary Magdalen is Sara Bareilles. A very talented singer, songwriter, pianist. I found it funny that when Alice Cooper had his scene he used a traditional hand held microphone as if it were a number from one of his concerts. Sort of broke the third wall. The only thing I didn't like about this version was the production director cranking up the crowd noise for certain parts throughout the show. The shrieking crowd made it seem more like a Beatles concert than a stage musical.
