I look forward to this and if it was a choice my job would be in a cat and dog home, I know it's not all fun but I can't have pets cos I work too much.

I'd be lost without my cats. The house would just feel empty if I opened the door and they weren't whingeing for some attention. 1304

My neighbors downstairs complained my cats made too much noise by jumping off the furniture so I had to rehome then, it's a year now of having no pets so no reason to come home, that why I need my fix of Paul and the Battersea inmates.

That's a bit crap! Don't cats land softly?

Miserable bastards. I would move or get a parrot and teach it some swear words. Life's too short to be on your own if you don't want to be.

I've been thinking about getting a dog but the whole 'picking up poo' thing puts me off. Especially as I'm thinking of getting a greyhound as they don't need much walking.

Unless they were wearing miners boots and landing on cymbals, I cannot see how cats jumping off furniture could make any kind of noise!
Admittedly my toms do tend to thud along on the laminate floors, but at least one of them is part Panther....
Paul so nearly got that stunning boxer - but a nice lady pipped him at the post. I love the way there seem to be owners for everyone - no matter how sad, mis-shapen, elderly or timid the dogs are. The little Yorkie with the odd bark was adorable.
Love the Hi De Hi intro with Paul and his dog co presenter in the radio station. "Sponsored by puppy pads - for those little accidents!"

I just love the whole programme. It's one of the very few that leaves me with a smile on my face when it ends. It's like an oasis of undemanding pleasantness when most of what is offered is anything but. I think Paul is one of those people who you know instinctively that if you met him, you would like him.
monic, I just can't imagine cats making enough noise to be a problem when jumping off furniture. Have you got a history with these people? A friend has a dog living in the floor above her, and hears a fair bit of tap-tapping from claws on the marble floor when it's on the move. My own cats are forever leaping on or off something, and there is barely a sound.

One of the cats was a bruiser but its my opinion that they are just moaning neighbours, the dad is a bully and yes the big cat did make a thud but that's normal and it wasn't as it they were doing it to be noisy. Everyone know that cats spend most of their time sleeping. I will get my revenge if I sell up and move, Laminate floors are a selling point and its a 3 bedroom flat so kids are to be expected. jawsmiley Anyway I will get my fix watching Paul, if I wasn't out all day I'd have a dog
Paul always makes me smile and like him I'd take one home if I worked at our local cat and dog home

Another lovely, emotional episode this week. That poor little pug with the drooping bosoms from over breeding, and her Jack Russell/terrier friend. SO glad they were neutered and found good homes. The greyhound with the over long and over waggy tail was gorgeous. Unusual problem, but they soon sorted it out. Did LOL when it whacked Paul full in the face - whilst being friendly.
The snow white dog that had been rescued from abroad was stunning - and fancy it liking Mango!
Just wish the episodes were an hour long.

Agree about shooting Miranda, But a happy ending for Willow and Jensen. If I had the energy I would go for Bud today. But I don't!

The treatment of Willow was appalling - yet her little tail was still wagging. I really thought she would be going home with Paul - but needless to say she was soon snapped up. And the 'fostering' lady just had to keep Jenson.
Bud is perhaps the most energetic cross - greyhound and border collie I think they said? Boundless energy but a total softy. IF he was still there when this episode was broadcast, I expect he will be gone by now!
The staff are all truly wonderful at Battersea (and all rescue centres). Their hearts must be broken daily yet the recoveries and successful rehomings make it all worth while.
