That’s why I rarely watch a BBC drama without subtitles these days. I had recorded it and my (ancient) recorder won't let me have subtitles unless I put them on before it begins to record. I forgot to do it. I could watch again on iPlayer with subtitles but I'm not sure it's worth bothering as I got the gist of the story and am not really that invested in it.

I have decided that I will watch it to the end. Not because I think it is good, but because I want to see the ending that some critics have called a cop-out. I will do it slowly, but it I really struggle with it, I'll just go to the end.

Well I just watched the ending and found it rather unbelievable. I can see why others have said it was a cop out. Apparently there is a series 2. I’m not sure I will bother.

I was actually laughing out loud at that ending! Apart from the ludicrous idea that a crime kingpin would just on a whim go into the police station to confess, the fact they had to ring the bell and wait cracked me up! But honestly, as if, I mean really, as if this would happen. Col may have decided a life of crime was no longer for him, but I cannot believe he wouldn’t just retire rather than facing 20years in the clink. And as for her, what an odious woman she was. Self-serving doesn’t come close! Apart from the laughable end it was quite well made though I thought, despite the gruesome characters.

I found the ending completely unbelievable, and the set-up fairly unbelievable from the outset, but yes it was quite well made, enough to keep me watching.
I binged this series from the start - in fact I've done that with a few things recently (The Gold, Unforgotten, The Bay). It gets round the problem of my deteriorating memory failing to recall who all the characters are from a week ago and/or what they were up to in the previous episode (or sometimes getting characters from different productions muddled up with one another!)

Maybe I should start that as well then as all of the above apply to me! I just cannot abide not being able to FF through the ads. At least on FreeVee they only last up to one minute, on Drama I have on occasion gone to the loo, boiled the kettle and made a cup of tea before the break finished.

I'm not sure whether it is just my imagination but to my mind the adverts on the new ITV X don't seem to last as long as they did on the old ITV Hub.

TBH, I decided to pay for the ad-free as I was watching quite a few programmes on ITV. It's worth it as I just can't stand watching adverts now. Although I may cancel it once Unforgotten is done as everything else I was watching has finished!
