I agree. Very irritating and intrusive. But they’ve reintroduced the audience this week so someone somewhere thought they were an asset I thought that was really weird coming just the week after our comments! Has anyone else noticed that the average age of the teams wasn't being given this series ..... until last night's episode when it also was suddenly back.

That seemed to stop the week that the average age of one of the teams was probably 30-something… did they ask for it not to be revealed I wonder? Two quite solemn ladies in the four, maybe they were touchy about it??
That’s all I remember about the programme, not sure that we’ll see them again

King's were not very impressive tonight but they were up against a very strong team from Lincoln College. The King's captain seemed a touch detached at the very start of the programme.

He looked as though he would rather be somewhere else! Meanwhile Amol is still going for the record for how many questions he can gabble out in the half-hour It is seriously annoying

I think it's cos we got used to Jeremy getting slower over the years. He used to to rap them out pretty quick in the early years.

The King's captain seriously annoyed me from the start with his attitude. Lincoln were excellent even without poor opposition. They were a proper team with everyone having some input. I have realised that I actually prefer Amol Rajan now. He is friendlier than Jeremy Paxman ever was towards the teams but still strict enough with them when it's needed and I have got used to his quick fire delivery now. For me he is a success in the job.

Starting a question before the applause has died down is another bugbear but that's down to the editing.

The tight finish last night was nail-biting but spoilt a bit for me by the fact that Amol Rajan was gabbling the questions so quickly that I couldn't understand what he was saying. I was surprised the teams could! It's one thing to ramp up the pressure and the excitement of a very close contest - they have always done that on UC - but that went too far I thought.

His chair wants taking up a notch or two too.

Is there *anything* their captain and the guy sitting on her left don't know?! I was in awe of them.

His question delivery was much clearer this week. Still miss Paxo but he's growing on me.

His question delivery was much clearer this week. Still miss Paxo but he's growing on me. I have been surprised at how quickly I took to him and how clear his question delivery normally is because when he first began on the Today programme his diction was terrible. I wonder if he's had some coaching. They still need to sort out his delivery when the teams are neck and neck towards the end like last week. He was impossible to understand then.

The captain of Emmanuel is going to have a really bad neck when she's older.
