I don't think an age gap like that is considered a big deal at that age. More importantly she has her own house and money. I wondered whether it was going to turn into the familiar romance scam story, where the man suddenly needs a bit of money for medical bills, flights before he can meet her, but it all fizzled out. Unless of course that is coming up later.

That's not just an actress, that's Barbara Flynn - star of some real tv classics including The Beiderbeck Trilogy, A Very Peculiar Practice and Cracker (plus numerous period costume dramas)!

Well they were served very well by the actors playing the bereaved parents, weren’t they? I was welling up! At this stupid show! Needless to say Humphrey was ridiculous as ever and Martha was pretty awful although possibly slightly less awful than in series 1. Early days though. Who the Hell could start a steam train (which the guy said can only be operated by two people) twice by mistake. It’s cringe comedy.
I have two questions. 1. Where could you get curare in England? 2. Would they let you foster children if you lived on that old boat? Isn’t there a Health and Safety risk, mainly of falling overboard.

Beyond Paradise fans will be surprised as the second episode of the popular programme faces a schedule alteration. After a triumphant comeback on the last Friday, the subsequent episode will now be broadcast at 9pm instead of the usual 8pm slot on Friday (March 29).
A spokesperson for the series took to the official Instagram space to communicate the change: "We're back with a new episode of #BeyondParadise tomorrow night... but you'll have to wait just a liiiiiiittle bit longer than regular, as we're broadcasting at the later time of 9pm tomorrow. See you then! ".

Peter Davidson. He's always the killer.

Again, fairly easy to work out as there aren’t many characters to choose from, and so a new one is either the victim or the killer! But good fun anyway, and the arrival of Peter Davidson means the “dating” storyline of the mother is going to expand! This will be fun!

Be interesting to see if the Sarge's backstory will be filled in too. Hopefully there's a good reason why she doesn't want to talk to the psychic. Other than not believing in it.

Peter Davison's appearance heralds the start of a Peculiar Practice reunion! They have form together there. (Who knows, next weeks suitor might be James Bolam!)

Well at least he didn’t con her out of all her money.
Personally I think it is a bit rich that Humphrey and smug Martha have booted Anne out of her lovely house and onto their crappy boat!!!!! I mean the original suggestion/demand was bad enough, but it was supposed to be whilst fostering a toddler wasnt it? But it seems as if they have just gone ahead anyway before even getting a child of any age. I would have told them to stick it!

I agree, it is a ludicrous plot line. If they were saying her mother lived on the boat and also used the house, social services would want to interview her too.
If they can afford to run a restaurant, that never seems crowded and looks like it must be chilly most of the time, why can't they afford to rent a house or buy one, he must be on a substantial wage.

I agree they should be able to rent a house. Is it because of the endless comedy opportunities provided by the boat… he banging his head on the low ceiling, Selwyn the duck not waking them up? Oh how we laughed.

I have to admit that I put this on, but tend to drift off. The crime always seems to be secondary to everything else. It's not, but when I glance up, it's always them at the cafe, them at the boat, the mum on a date, one of the police staff hugging a friend. This means that although the plots aren't that hard, I still miss them because I've drifted - even napped for minutes.

Yes you are right. And that is not helped by the characters being less than charismatic.
