I hardly ever drink now .. but I used to drink vodka or Southern Comfort or a pint of ordinary strength lager or a bottle of Budweiser .. I quite like those beers with a citrus twist

In weather like this, I love a large glass of ice-cold Guinness

I never drink now, but when I did, I would drink amongst other things, a good brandy and ginger. When I was small, I would be given spirits as a mouthwash. Whatever you do, don't swallow. Spit it out.

I'm mainly a red wine gal. This weather though I do like a nice cold rosé as an aperitif. However, I'm off to the pub for quiz this evening and I shall stick to lager - Ornajeboom.

If I could still drink alcohol (haven't touched the stuff for over 6 years, doesn't 'go' with my medication) - would love to try Prosecco (sp?) and see what the fuss is about - used to be a Cava girl
Nowadays my favourite 'poison' is the good old British cuppa. And strong. My dad says I like 'builders' tea' - cheers! *raises mug*

If we are talking about any drinks, then Coffee in winter, black and green tea (no milk no sugar) in summer.

I had a long-standing ambition to drink a glass of Prosecco in Florian's on St Mark's Square, Venice ... achieved it a few years ago (best not say how much it cost ) Now when I have a rare glass I'm transported back to that lovely place

Became a fan in Rome, then a couple of years ago it popped up here in Spain. A friend of mine who suffers from migraines says it's the only white wine that doesn't start her off on one. Apparently a lot of sufferers say this is true, as it's either made differently, or is missing an ingredient that is bad news.

I saw a tasting on This Morning , on the run-up to Christmas last year, and they were saying how good the Salted caramel vodka from Aldi was, but you couldn't get it, for love nor money! Well this week they had loads of bottles, so I got one. On first tasting it is lush, but you wouldn't want more than one! Lets just say, I don't think it will overtake Baileys in the Christmas market.

You can make your own Bailey's, not as good as the original maybe but passable especially if used in coffee etc.

Beer - Peroni (on draft preferably although if in summer and particularly warm, extra chilled bottle). If not available, Kronenbourg, Hop House 13 or Estrella will do. Spirit - Vodka, Whiskey, Rum - in that order of preference. Although a gin and tonic on a particulary hot day with a couple wedges of cucumber always works. Cocktails - White Russian or a Pornstar Martini. Soft drinks - Ice cold Apple Tango, always out of a can.

Agree on the Peroni,, Harvey. For me, obligatory when watching Montalbano. Takes me right back to lovely meals in Sicily. Limoncello or Toffee Vodka are ahead on points for shorts just now.

On a hot day, a cold cloudy flat cider. Like the original Old Rosie, not that fizzy crap Henry Weston is trying to palm off as Old Rosie.
On a cold night, a warm brandy. Preferably a 15 year old Cognac. Although an Armagnac will do.

We've just bought a coffee maker for Christmas but this is with the express purpose of putting Irish whiskey (him) or brandy (me) into the resultant brew! Having said that, I have been cutting back on the alcohol lately and when out, I've been having blackcurrant and soda. When my liver has stopped complaining, I'll probably get back on the horse...
