Well done, Andy. Never thought I'd see a Brit at No. 1 in tennis.

What a fantastic end of year for the Murray family. Both sons finishing as World no. 1s. They both deserve a good rest.
Never thought I'd see two British tennis players at no. 1 in my lifetime.

No, indeed. And in the last 12 months, "we" have won the Davis Cup, an Olympic gold, and the most prestigious slam. Not a bad yr, all in all. (And that's before you mention Konta's rise, Watson's Wimbledon doubles trophy (her partner then won the doubles this week, so he has had a pretty special yr too), and the fab achievements of the wheelchair players.)

Well done Andy. A very enjoyable match. What a super end to the year for the Murray boys. Mum Judy must be so proud of them. Seems like we have some good players these days.

Well done Gordon. A great achievement.
Three Brits (all from Scotland) at no. 1. Never thought I'd see that in my lifetime.

Looks like Djokovic and Becker have parted company. According to Becker, Djokovic didn't put in the effort for the last six months.!

And he played like it. It's been obvious there's something wrong for a while now.

I guess Boris was happy to be seen with a player getting to, and staying at, the top. Only way now is down, and he may not be so keen to hang around for that. Plus, being on a % of winnings, he may not see it as worth his while. I think Djokovic has put in the effort. He hasn't got the results, but it's pretty hard to be unbeatable for yrs on end. No one doubts Nadal or Federer put in the effort, and neither of them have maintained form. Djokovic hasn't had a specific injury (as far as I know), but mental fatigue can have a similar effect to a bad back or knackered knee on results at the very top. Finishing the yr a very, very close 2nd in the world is none too shabby.

There are rumours going about that the reason for the dip in form is marital problems. He has been photographed at a Los Angeles nightclub with a Bollywood actress, it has been interpreted as suspicious by one group (headed up by the Daily Mail), and as two friends catching up (headed up by Indian media); they have known each other since 2014.
