Well done Johanna. The Brits aren't doing too badly at the moment.

I am trying to watch the US Open, however, I don’t think the camera angles are giving a very user friendly view. Does anyone else find this?

Unfortunately, it seems that the tv coverage has gone to a channel I don't get, so sadly I am not watching this.

Looks like Nadal is out after injuring his knee. Goodness, they are a load of walking wounded aren't they.
I expect Williams will win

I am so sorry Nadal is injured....and I hope Del Potro can beat Djokovic, if not, let's hope it's a good battle.
Williams will probably win (despite her attire) and probably quite easily, but let's hope I'm wrong. I like Naomi Osaka; she is so humble.

Dreadful end to US open. Poor Naomi. She really played well and deserved to win. Bad sportsmanship all round.

Has any of the temper tantrum male players - from MacEnroe onwards - ever been docked a set?

Has any of the temper tantrum male players - from MacEnroe onwards - ever been docked a set? McEnroe was taken out of matches because of his behaviour. There’s no sexism here. The same umpire has docked top men’s players before, but even that is not the point. If you want to argue, smash your racket, or be rude to the umpire fine. But take the rest of your argument away from the game...make your sexism point in the press conference. Or get the umpire and referee in a room, if possible. Her coach admitted to coaching from the sides. Whether she saw, or was aware, is irrelevant. It’s against the rules and the call was sound. Williams lost because she was not as good as Osaka. That’s the beginning and end of it. The point or game throwing wouldn’t have made much difference in the end, if any. Well done Naomi Osaka, you deserved the win, outright, and no amount of nonsense about sexism, or racism (oh yes, even that too) will ever change that.

Thanks for that info cali4ster.
I have no memory of Mac being taken to task at Wimbledon back in the day. IMO he was over indulged and should have been reprimanded. But I suspect the organisers felt he and his conduct were a draw, so they let him away with it. As you say, Serena's coach has admitted to making signs to her.
The media should ignore Serena and concentrate on the very worthy winner Naomi whose brilliant play has been completed overlooked!

I thought this was shocking.
I can't stand Williams anyway and her thinking she should win every GS really gets on my nerves. Plus the fact she always mentions how hard it is since having a child. I seem to remember Kim Clijsters coming back from having a baby and winning a GS...and not forever going on about it.
Naomi outplayed her pure and simple, and it's very sad her win was spoilt by the bad sport that is Williams.

Williams does not control the media. It is unfortunate that Naomi's win (2nd time she has beaten Serena) has been completely ignored.
They did not need to even mention the outbursts on the BBC news, but chose to - cutting to Ms William's press conference before that of the winner. I have still not seen Naomi lift the trophy.
Bad editorial decision, imo.
