Peter Davison has become one of the actors that when he appears in a crime drama I immediately think 'he's the murderer'.  Or at least, very dodgy! (I've watched the Marple episode of Bertram's Hotel twice in recent weeks). |

The culprit is never the one you thought it would be in Vera, always the one you least expect. The trick is spotting who IS the least likely....and I totally failed again this week!

Just saw a ? trailer for Vera, with her walking round a crime scene on a beach, talking to camera. Very funny. Do love brenda blethyn.

A week behind everyone else - but catching up.
Full marks to Brenda and the other cast members who had to film the sea side café scenes with about 75 seagulls insisting on being very noisy extras!

I enjoyed it but found it hard to follow. When they focussed their attention on Lee, I was saying "who on earth is Lee?" .

Even more confusing since she also called the garage owner Nasir Aleeee - as in Mohd Aleee the boxer whose pronunciation use was peculiar to him alone, I think..... it scans better in the ring announcements.

Less than a week after the tenth series launched, ITV has renewed Vera for an eleventh series.
The news was announced yesterday by Brenda Blethyn herself at the Television Critics Association press tour. An ITV spokesperson said that production on season 11 would get underway this spring ahead of a 2021 premiere.
