I never understood this. Because of all the awards it has been getting, I have to assume that it is just not my thing.

Once again we will see what Giles and Mary, the Mlchaels family, Jenny and Lee, and Mary and Marina think of recent programmes. We've seen a few come and a few go, I wonder what if any new watchers there will be.

I never understood this. Because of all the awards it has been getting, I have to assume that it is just not my thing. It can be very funny, depending on who is shown. And also familiar. The GBs often have the same reaction to a programme that I do. And sometimes when they don't get something I understood, I can feel all warmly superior. Which is not a nice trait, I admit, but most of us have it. I remember the Malones watching a drama that made absolutely no sense: Mom - I won't be watching that again. Dad - Not unless it comes with instructions My reaction exactly!

Jenny and Lee owe me a new duvet cover, having just snorted Pepsi out my nose all over it!
Lee: Could you imagine what Len Goodman would have said of that. Jenny: Turnin' in his grave poor Len wouldn't he. Lee: He's not dead. Jenny: Oh. Isn't he?!

I just love some of the down to earth comments. The Welsh couple are good. And I love the Malones and their big dogs.
Giles often tries to wind Mary up, and she doesn't always seem to realise it, LOL.

Or she does and is totally ignoring his daft comments

Have been enjoying this new series. The Great British Public seem very good at sussing out who is genuine or not.
Still love the Malones and their dogs, and the two Asian lads and their father - sorry have forgotten their names.

Festive Special on Friday (3rd) at 9pm.
Our favourite TV watchers are casting a critical eye over this year's Christmas TV shows. Wonder what they'll think of A Christmas Carol?

Oh I really hope they show a particularly sweary part of A Christmas Carol to get their reactions! (Actually thinking back to it, I have decided I did really enjoy that show on the whole. It certainly made its mark.)

I don't know how this programme is made, but I get the impression that they don't know what they're sitting down to: sometimes they seem genuinely pleased when it starts, as they know the content, but other times it might be something they wouldn't normally watch.
The reactions are just fascinating, and, if they say things which we've been thinking, we have the opportunity to feel smug!

Now I read somewhere that they are sent a DVD of the selected items each week.

Yes that's what I understood, they are all contracted to watch so many hours of TV with the camera recording at more or less the same time and the editors decide what gets in or not.
I think since the hairdresser from Brighton started filming with his husband it's not as good as when he was with his mum, but I think I must be in a minority as he appears regularly.
