I enjoyed this gentle little 3-part sitcom, about a fictitious British king and royal family.
Despite being on a channel usually associated with classic comedies, it's a new production written by Dick Clement and Ian La Frenais (writers of The Likely Lads, Porridge and Auf Wiedersehen, Pet). King Henry IX is played by Charles Edwards (Lady Edith's newspaper editor lover in Downton, the dastardly D'Abberville in The Halcyon) and the strong cast includes Annette Crosbie, Sally Phillips, Colin Salmon, Kara Tointon, Don Warrington.
All 3 episodes are repeated one after another next Wednesday, 26 April starting at 7.20 pm.

I loved this. Not 'in your face' hilarious, more chuckly (is that a word). It would be nice if the two writers could do more of this sort of thing.
