The second series of this subtitled Danish crime drama starts Friday week, 7th. July on More4 at 9.00 pm.
I enjoyed the first series. Dicte is a crime reporter for the local paper and she helps detective Wagner solve cases, usually homicides, although this is sometimes in conflict with her duties as a journalist. She, her friends and colleagues and Wagner also have their personal issues.
Like series 1, the run consists of 5 different cases each of which was originally shown in 2 parts - this time however More4 has repackaged them into 5 double-length episodes. Series 1 is available on the All4 player, if you can bring yourself to use it - it's also available on DVD to Lovefilm subscribers.

Cool. I shall give it a go. I can't remember why I didn't watch the first series.

It's good, isn't it.
Relationships seem to have moved on a bit since the first series. Dicte's friend Anne took up with Torsten, Dicte's ex, sometime during series 1 and now she's pregnant by him. Dicte was getting close to Bo, her work colleague, and now the two are very much together. We didn't see her other friend Ida Marie in this episode, although she was referred to as being away with her husband sorting their marriage out - last time she was pregnant and neglected by her husband who was always away on business, and was attracted to Wagner. She (the actor) got a big part in The Legacy after Dicte series 1 & perhaps wasn't very available.
Nowadays I look on with horror when people are seen driving while holding a mobile phone to their ear! Dicte was doing it while chasing a Mercedes along a pedestrian precinct.

Note for the next two Fridays there is a schedule change for Dicte series 2, due to More4 showing a UEFA Women's Euro 2017 football match. The previous schedule showed one 2-hour episode 3. This has now been split into 2 1-hour episodes on consecutive weeks.
Earlier listings showed: Fri 21 July 9.00-11.00 pm, episode 3 of 5.
They now show: Fri 21 July 10.00-11.00 pm, episode 3 of 6 ("Passion and Handcuffs" - Part One) Fri 28 July 9.00-10.00 pm, episode 4 of 6 ("Passion and Handcuffs" - Part Two)

Thanks Geo! I have retuned my PVR to get rid of the extra RB channels so will make sure it's been picked up.

I've enjoyed watching Dicte series 2, and look forward to the third and final series - if More4 will show it. RT says it's "in the pipeline" but this is an understatement, since it was aired in Denmark almost a year ago.

Oh I am so glad I am not alone! I think Dicte can be a right cow. In fact I think it is quite bold of them to give the heroine such questionable personality traits!!!!! And everyone always forgives her. I don't think I would.

Dicte is pig-headed and often comes a cropper, particularly where relationships are concerned - that's one of the things I like about the series though.
