I just assumed it was spectacularly unflattering clothing which made her look bigger!

Did everyone else give up on this? I watched to the end, but wish I hadn't, I'm decidly angry about so much of it - yes I know probably true to what does happen, but that makes it worse

TBH, I didn't even start watching it. I knew it would just make me angry and depressed.

Another drama with an odd end.

I watched to the end, and thought it was generally good but became increasingly strange. It couldn't seem to make up its mind whether it was a whodunnit, a comment on the difficulties faced by social workers or a look at trust (or lack of) between family members.I suppose it was all these.
I can imagine widespread dissatisfaction with the ending, as nobody got what they deserved, good or bad. At least the dog was OK!

There's certainly widespread dissatisfaction here! It really ticks me off when no one bothers to tell the police whodunnit and an innocent person gets banged up! Assuming he does get banged up, talk about inconclusive! But Miriam remembered Alice following her so that should be enough to imply she saw the gold car, and Si (who I ought was the murderer for most of it and was certainly a git) got a full confession. Was John over burdened with guilt at the end so he might actually confess?
I found the scenes in the shower when Si burst in on his naked mother (last week?) rather unpleasant to watch.

Me too....unpleasant and unnecessary.

What a waste of time. Did the writers run out of ideas? Did they think it was clever to leave it like that? What was the point? It was like reading a book and finding that the last pages had been torn out. My husband thought there must be another part and was annoyed to find that was it. Like Bancroft it was a complete waste of four evenings.

Completely rubbish ending.
Waste of a potentially great drama.
