Would this be Hieronymus "Harry" Bosch by Michael Connelly? If so I wonder if they will get the character right. I have all the books and love the story. Always difficult because you build a picture in your head when reading and it doesn't always translate.

I would have chosen Jerry Orbach to play him if he hadn’t gone to that big film set in the sky, but Titus Welliver is a similar type.

I have a few of the books, and have to say that I prefer them to the TV series. But that is always the case for me.

We’ve read all the books but I think it’s best to watch the series without trying to cross reference them with the books.

I think that it is the expectation that does it in for me. It is funny because it doesn't work the other way. If I watch something on TV, and then read the book, it is fine, and I can appreciate both for what they are.
