I quite like her. She knows what she's talking about. She and Charlie Dagnall make a good team. It's the squealing! Took a while to get used to Charles Dagnall but I enjoy listening to him now, not sure still about the other newish chap (name has just jumped out of my memory and waved goodbye ) I feel very old when I start thinking about all the commentators I've heard over the years! But however good they are, they lose brownie points very quickly if they don't give the score regularly - and some are very guilty in that respect! Might have been kinder not to today I suppose....

Babar is out for the rest of the series with a broken wrist.

363 - 9 with Babar not able to bat, so end of innings.

Apparently, until now, England have only ever lost one test match in May when playing in England, and that was against Australia in the 1920s. The way things are going, it looks like it will soon be twice.

That was a good bowl but Stoneman played it like an eejit. Totally the wrong approach.

From the BBC Website:
Geoffrey Boycott -- I like Malan's temperament. If I could offer him a little advice, it would be to just move his wrists a little bit and manoeuvre a single around. It takes a little pressure off him. No sooner said than -- Malan c Sarfraz b Amir 12 (Eng 91-3) followed by Bairstow b Amir 0 (Eng 91-4) and Stokes c sub (Fakhar) b Shadab 9 (Eng 104-5)

So ... it seems Ed Smith is as good a selector as he was a commentator.

Joe Root: "We have been out performed in all three departments, we have to be better. There have been a number of collapses recently and we have to find a way as a group. We have to be more patient and take our opportunities when we get them. We can do that next week and we must take that chance. We got it wrong, we know that. These conditions suit us as well. It's a talented team and there are guys in there who will do great things for England. We can't ignore this, we have to learn from it quickly. A lot of the things that we do are very good. We are ambitious, we want to win but sometimes we make poor decisions. It's about the number of runs you score, not how long it takes you and maybe we need to absorb a bit more. You have to recognise the right times to attack." What was he talking about? Hint: England slipped from 236-6 to 242 all out in the course of three overs.
Pakistan went on to score 66 runs for the cost of 1 wicket.
