Well Ñetz I managed to do the series record so hope it works for each day this week for 1 hour less adverts! I see on Friday the mention of celebrating Christmas Day so that just takes us to the end of 2016 and haven't read about when we might see another series during this year......hope they don't get too bored! Luckily I kept the last year's Radio Times large picture of the group with names written on so long ago and see the same double page picture in this week's edition

I watched the first one but only got about two-thirds of the way through before I switched it off. It was just too melodramatic and TSTL for me. Not one of them had an ounce of common sense.

I think they are just making the most of a bad idea, and doing 5 programmes to show how the rest of the year panned out. Sad , instead of what they may have been expecting (people working together to build a community?) they just got bullying and division.

Paradise Lost was indeed a very apt title. I think the only people who left the show with any dignity intact were the three camera people. But then, they had hardly any air time apart from commenting afterwards (they seemed nice enough from the little we saw of them though).
The producers would've selected a certain narrative thread to run with when condensing a whole year (or however many months were left after last year's episodes) into five episodes, and they must've been salivating at the footage they had. It'll be hard for the more toxic personalities to claim they were stitched up in the editing - their conversations were real enough.
It made me wonder what kind of assessments/psychological screening these people went through beforehand. Would the experiment have worked better with a wider range of ages and more women?

I read an article about this by a woman who left, and she said by the end all the remaining women shaved their heads! Really? Whatever made them do that?

I thought that too. That or their hair was in such bad condition that they decided on the drastic option of starting all over again

Sometimes that's the best thing to do. Especially if you know you will soon be in a place with proper showers and shampoo!

Having just finished watching all 5 episodes can't believe SOME of the participents showed these aggressive traits,so shamefull. I knew it was bound to get nasty but just hope Ch 4 will return the site to nature and I suppose they did spend so much on the set up they just had to get a little extra mileage . As for mobile phones I've always hated mine, changed it twice since the beginning but never used for years, it lies gathering dust though monthly I use it to phone my landline, thinking I may as well ditch it now even though it will die with about £ 20 in it, sadly I observe the majority of users now can't live without them. Can't recall much of a similar programme where the audience met with Ben Fogle years ago but life seemed more idyllic then, sign of the times we live in now !

I think the one with Ben Fogle ended better because there was a much wider range of ages and there were also a couple of families involved. IIRC, the older people had the sense to get the food sorted out early and the younger people had the energy to build everything needed. Plus they already had a roof over their heads.

Such quaint cabins they were, just did a Google and thought it happened further back than 2000, I would enjoy seeing a repeat ( BBC ?) Perhaps they can't, guarding the privacy of those who took part ! Sorry don't know llRC? The island is Taransay in the Outer Hebrides

I suspect (or hope) they won't be getting the tv careers they hoped for.
