Odd, weekend time slot for an animal based programme but this hour long series, looking at the work of 2 animal charities sounds promising.

I'm going to record it to watch this evening. You can let me know how many boxes of tissues I will need as I watch the episode.

Just started watching it. The narration is awful.

Oh bless that poor staffy! He's eaten something toxic by the look of him.

Good programme! I also loved Elvis - and the way the staff tack the owners name onto the pets - "Elvis Thomas"! always makes me smile. (This is why you must never call animals anything silly like Cuddles or Sugar Lump. Sweetie-kins McTavish is not a good sound.)
The Staffie was so lovely, beautiful coat, and the old Spaniel was a sweetheart. I loved the way she got a wee ride on the platform that raised her owners wheelchair into the car.
The chicken looked to me to be some kind of rare breed. Surely it would have been missed? Unless its owners assumed a fox had got it. Looks like it landed on its feathery feet with Chicken Lady new owner. (Are Chicken Ladies as or less mad than Cat Ladies?)
The staff of vets and vet nurses were all nice and I liked their 2-tone tunics.
Set for series record!

I enjoyed it too, apart from the CBBC narration. But what the hey.
That old fella with the cat made me laugh. As soon as the vet said the teeth were fine, I thought 'that cat has been eating out'.

That is often the problem with cats. Worried owners lug a feline the size of the surgery door into the practice and sob
"He won't eat!"
"Madam" - it is usually a worried cat lady - "he is the size of small Balkan country. He won't eat with YOU. He WILL eat with others" the vet has to explain.
Cue much huffiness from the human and a complete lack of guilt from the 'patient'.
John Thomson did the narration. I must admit the Elvis song titles came thick and fast but it was ok by me.

The two nurses were funny. 'Did you just sniff that chicken?'

Just noticed your reminder after watching this programme tonight. I did wonder why I had briefly noted to myself to watch it,yes it's worth watching. I got my last 2 moggies, sisters and indoor cats from the nearby PDSA rehoming centre......they did well for me but was interested to hear the vet tell that odd woman about cats preferring their own space..bobo?...did this cat ever get given the steroids

No, he didn't. The problem was allergy related so the vet told them they would have to go private.
