Hooray. Berlin Station is finally coming to the UK. And even better it'll be free-to-air on More4 later this year. It has a great cast with Richard Armitage, Rhys Ifans, Richard Jenkins, Michelle Forbes and Leland Orser.
Trailer below.

I'm out I'm afraid. In the minority I'm sure, but I've never rated Richard Armitage that much. Also I'm not really into spy dramas (with the exception of Deutschland 83, and - if and when we get it - Deutschland 86).

Finally I've been waiting for a British channel to pick this up.

Give it a chance as the cast and story are great. Leland Orser, for me at least, steals the show...along with Jenkins.

He was superb in North and South (as I'm sure you're tired of hearing!), but that's a long time ago now. I'm not sure Robin Hood did him any favours in terms of being taken seriously as an actor, and since then he's done a lot of stuff on channels I don't have access to. I will certainly give this a go.

He looks like Geraint Thomas in that pic.

To me I think RA will never better N&S.
But will certainly watch Berlin Sation

Just watched the trailer above. Does RA have a portrait in the attic, I wonder? He doesn't seem to have aged at all in the last 14 years! And he does have a rather peculiar accent in this – is he aiming for American and not quite getting there, or what?

Berlin Station will receive its UK premiere on More4 on Thursday October 25th at 9pm.
Berlin Station is set in the CIA’s office in Berlin, Germany and follows the activities of CIA operatives on a global stage amid investigations of moles, terrorists, corrupt politicians and more. The drama series stars Richard Armitage, Richard Jenkins, Michelle Forbes, Rhys Ifans, Leland Orser, Ashley Judd, Keke Palmer and Ismael Cruz Córdova.
The show’s first season takes a look at the activity of a CIA office on a global stage in the midst of an investigation into a now-infamous whistleblower. It follows Daniel Miller, played by Richard Armitage (The Hobbit, Hannibal), a new arrival to Berlin’s CIA station who is on a clandestine mission to uncover the source of the Thomas Shaw leaks. A third season is in the works.

Giving this a little bump as I'd forgotten about it so imagine others have.

Well, that was underwhelming. NY Times review (https://www.nytimes.com/2016/10/15/arts/television/review-berlin-station-the-hunt-for-a-cia-whistle-blower.html) describes it as 'pop le Carré' which is quite generous, I'd say. Still, a lot of exposition which is normal for a first episode so it might even out and become more comprehensible. Rhys Ifans' American accent was more convincing than Richard Armitage's, I thought, and I did wonder, again, why bring in UK actors to play US characters, particularly in this show where the German characters are played by Germans, so they got that bit right. Cheaper, I suppose.

It seems that there are two series, with a third in the pipeline, and the second series has much higher ratings on IMDB than the first. I hope there is finality to series 1, without loose ends to be sorted out in the second series, which would make it into more of a soap opera. www.imdb.com/title/tt5191110/episodes?season=1

I nearly gave up at the first advert break but I think I'm glad I didn't as it gradually got a bit easier to understand. I hope, as it goes on, I will be able to distinguish between some of the male members of the Berlin Station as that was my main problem last night. I will certainly give it another go next week.
