The action isn't meant to have jumped at all, but there was a gap of over 2 years between filming the original two episodes and the remaining four. It's the same actor (Joseph Teague) playing Harry the son & nephew, but he was 10 when filming last week's story and 13 when filming this week's and next week's - maybe they decided it was too big a job to try and make him look as young as before. One of the hazards of making a pilot which you hope will turn into a series.
I find Wagstaffe not unlikeable, but I have to suspend disbelief that he gets away with the things he does - he'd be behind bars himself in real life.

Unconvincing, I think, is the word for me.
I dont believe in them as police, don't believe in the crimes or the investigation, don't believe in the mystery of the parents. The whole thing is just flat. The opposite of Unforgotten.

I agree. It certainly hasn't got the intensity of Unforgotten. Or the chemistry between the leads.

I have just watched the first two-parter and rather enjoyed it so I hope I feel the same about the next two! It sounds as if they go off the boil a bit....

I really enjoyed this series, and hope it returns. Very good location filming I thought. And an added bonus as the victim's father was Ian from The Archers!

We got in a muddle with this, we saw 1,2 and 3 but somehow lost 4. Last night we watched what we thought was 4 and couldn’t understand why the story didn’t carry on from the last one we saw. Now we’ve downloaded the missing episode so that we can catch up, I thought there were only four in total but there are six.

I enjoyed it somewhat less than you. I liked the first story but then found it increasingly unbelievable. I ended up not thinking much of Staffe - anything he solves seems to be by a hunch, and his DC Josie (who he treated quite badly in the last episode) appears a much more competent detective. I would watch a second series should there be one, if only because of the cliffhanger at the end in which his sister appears to know more about their parents than he does, possibly including clues as to why they were murdered.

I watched the first two complete stories. However, in the last one I found it very hard to get interested so just didn't bother to watch the last instalment. If there is another series I don't think I will watch.

The last one hasn’t been on yet vicky, there are six in all and only 5 have been shown.

All 6 have been shown lizwing - ep 5 was on Wednesday and ep 6 on Thursday - following the strange pattern with this series of having two eps per week on Wed & Thur. I had trouble getting my series record to recognise them as all being part of one series & had to set each of the 6 up as a "one-off" recording.

Maybe that’s why I’ve missed some of them. I’m confused now!

My series link worked except for episode 2! Luckily I spotted that and managed to record it on +1.

I didn't like the last few minutes with that comment from Wagstaff's sister

We’ve just caught up but I have absolutely no idea what was going on most of the time. There were too many threads for me, they didn’t help the story and were just confusing. I can’t imagine they’ll make a new series but who knows?
