Great final. Was rooting for James all the way, but Wes was great too. Either could have won.
As for Gemma Collins - well. What can you say. Wonder why she bothered to go to all the trouble of turning up, getting hair and make up done and pouring herself into that costume just for 60 seconds of not skating. Even her fans were disgusted at the lack of effort. At least we were spared more than 60 seconds of her, and so glad she wasn't in the opening number as was said she would. Not a good role model.

We recorded the final and just whizzed through to watch only the skating. Was glad James won - he clearly has it in him to be a professional should he choose. Enjoyed the Bolero interpretations but James' had more content which was smoothly skated.
Torvill and Dean. Who'd have guessed they were aged 61 and 60 respectively? They still have the magic. After lifts, especially, Jayne returns to the ice smooth as cream which says a lot for Christopher's strength. I could watch and watch.

Oh yeah, I'd forgotten about that. I bet she will grimace every time she looks at his trophy next to her's, though.

I loved this series (sometimes for the wrong reasons) I was so glad James won (although I thought Wes was good too) I voted for James every week and couldn't believe how good he was.

As for Gemma Collins - well. What can you say. Before deleting our recording I watched that part of the programme where all the contestants came back for a 60 second "skate". Gemma Collins didn't skate. She stood, waved her arms about before being on the ice and again, waving her arms about. And for that she's been paid somewhere between £20K and £100K. Cheryl Baker, who competed last year apparently, considers "the pay is not great - I have bills to pay and never been a saver" according to an article in the Express (sorry, can't link) but what she got paid, settled her mortgage. I'd like to know what she considers a good pay packet when nurses get considerably less but contribute considerably more. Also, why are those who live their lives hopping from one reality programme to the next are considered "stars" or "celebrities"? Considering just how many RP's there are, with more being thought up and commissioned and spin offs of the likes of Bake Off, the potential is immense. Surely they are "personalities" at best. This is the first, and last, time we've watched this programme and only came into it about 2/3s the way through.
