Started last night, not sure far-fetched even covers it,most of it us so unlikely that you have to just go with flow.So a cleaner with a gambling addiction and enormous debts somehow manages, quite stupidly, to plant a bug in an office to get inside information on share dealings.
Just because current top flavour Sheridan Smith is in it, does not make it a winner.
The funniest thing was the lodger listing the stuff he had as as extras, came to me later ,he sounds just like Stephen Merchant .
Oh not forgetting, the bit at the end, 'If you have been affected by some of the issues..... ' etc.
Just froth, but ok,if you have nothing better to do.

Just froth, but ok,if you have nothing better to do. Actually, Geoffers, I think that's a dangerous path to go along that leads to more, and more, lousy TV. I thought it was a horrible programme. Not a single, likeable character, badly acted, coupled with an idiotic, highly cliched, story and setup, I think they made it because Sheridan Smith is seen as a winner and does the down-trodden working class lass well....except, here, failing.

Not a big fan of SS, but gave this a go....lasted 20 minutes, it’s awful.

It's not as good as I hoped, but I am a fan of Sheridan so will give it another episode.

I can't decide whether to watch this or not. I saw the trailer where she is having her anti-banker/fat cat rant. But that hardly excuses insider trading to make up for your online gambling losses, does it? I may dip into it this afternoon. Sheridan Smith does usually do a good job.

I saw it and had mixed feelings: it is far fetched, but has a lot of comedy moments. I don't mind dramas where everyone isn't lily white - our 'heroine' in this one is a liar who even lies to her best friend to get her to invest her precious savings in a gamble, and she's shown from the outset to be a compulsive gambler herself who spends her whole time juggling her life, to keep all her various balls in the air!
It's about survival, so you can't help rooting for someone who keeps on trying. I suspect it might have a sad ending as I can't see how else they can finish the story.

I believe throughout the series things will get steadily worse for Sheridan Cleaner, until the final episode where she is rescued and delivered to absolution by Sarah Lancashire playing a crusading down-trodden working class lawyer that put herself through night school while raising 17 foster children.

How on earth did she manage to use a computer in the trading room with no user id?
I think this could have been quite gripping but didn't like the persona of Sheridan Cleaner at all. She even looked aggrieved when jostled on a rush hour Tube, FGS. Nothing was her fault, was it? I couldn't really make out if we were supposed to be on her side because she was downtrodden yet chipper, or think she was a gambling addict who took no responsibility etc. I did like her pal Jess. But on the whole I think I shall abandon ship and perhaps just see how it ends. I can follow the plot in the RT without being irritated.

Reading the latest comments glad I didn't bother as I seem to have gone completely off her!

This has become even more far fetched. It's a sad tale of how those who gamble get in trouble ever deeper as they try to use their addiction to get out of their situation. I suppose that later on it will show how her willingness to take a chance will finally save her from her messy life. Not a good example to any compulsive gamblers watching!

Have the IT department in that bank got round to adding password protection to their computer network yet?

No passwords yet!
It's all pretty unbelievable, apart from the plight of gambling addicts. I'm finding it entertaining enough to keep watching though.
