Alibi has acquired Australian police drama Rush.
The show’s first season will premiere on the UKTV owned and operated channel on Monday February 4th at 5pm. UKTV holds rights to the first two seasons.
Rush follows the members of Melbourne’s Tactical Response Unit. The members of this unit are trained to be smarter, tactically superior and technologically advantaged. It is an insider’s view of police under pressure – defusing crises, saving lives and preventing crime, rather than catching the bad guys after the deed is done.
The drama series is produced by Endemol Australia and stars Rodger Corser (Underbelly), Callan Mulvey (Underbelly) and Catherine McClements (Water Rats). The series aired four seasons (and a total of 70 episodes) on Australia’s Network Ten between 2008 and 2011.
This marks the second Rodger Corser fronted Australian drama to find a UK home on Alibi. The company’s Drama channel also holds the exclusive first run UK rights to The Heart Guy (AKA Doctor Doctor), which stars Corser as Doctor Hugh Knight. The first two seasons of the series, which has been renewed through season four, have aired on Drama.
