I’d be willing to try one, just for reasons of quality control! But no, though I love chocolate if we flavour everything with chocolate then we lose all the other flavours!

I think Greg Wise made the fatal mistake of openly wanting to win and putting in the effort to do so. It meant he was a worthy winner in a not very entertaining show.
On the previous episode, Joe Wilkinson always strikes me as a clever man masquerading as an eccentric fool. It worked well here. I even liked his interactions with grumpy Jeremy. JP obviously had no talent or interest in baking, but I warmed to his affection for his dog. Toff was just plain irritating.

Yes it was so obvious that he had practiced a lot, when no one else had, so of course he won, but just looked smug doing it

I agree about the crumpets, but I'm afraid I love choc chip HC Buns! And the lemony ones. And the traditional ones....
Loved this series, as it's very revealing seeing celebs out of their normal, confident comfort zones. Some of them did surprisingly well, considering they had admitted to never baking before.

I had an apple cinnamon HCB today. And a blueberry one recently. They were both lovely.

HCBs are bread anyway so will suit most flavours. But a crumpet will not. It's a specific batter and should not be adultered. IMO, obviously!
