It's certainly near the knuckle but seems to be straying into Ally McBeal territory, with all the cartoons and fantasy conversations. Full marks for reflecting topical concerns in the US though.

I caught up this afternoon and rather enjoyed it. Good to see Kurt, I hope she doesn't dump him because of the Trump Juniors connection! I also liked the way the daughter didn't just angrily defend her father from the sex claims, the usual fall back position in dramas, but I am a bit doubtful about Diane leaking details of someone's abortion. I can see why she wants to do it to get one over on the Prez, but she is betraying another woman's confidence to do so. And don't they have any strong electric lights in Chicago? I could barely see what was going on for a lot of it!

I'm just watching episode 3 and have to say I am not enjoying this series as much as the others. I think this is mainly down to Michael Sheen playing the really gross lawyer.

I'm not too enamoured with this series either. It still has the annoying croaky voiced actress who plays the part of Mia Rendell.

This finished last night and I can't say I'm sorry to see the back of it! Michael Sheen's character was dreadful, there were very few legal cases (for a legal drama!), the little songs which were very original at first became boring and the anti Trump agenda just dominated the whole thing. And I didn't reckon much on Diane joining The Resistance either! Although I did like the way it linked back to the same two NSA surveillance guys, and Marissa was always good value (well best thing in it by the end!). I did enjoy Kurt being removed from the presidential stage for not being enthusiastic enough.
Funnily enough, the comment about Luca not being black enough made me laugh as that was one of the issues in Admissions, a comedy-ish about race which I saw at Richmond on Wednesday.
Thankfully it appears Blum and Maia have ridden off into the sunset so perhaps they can get back to basics next series, assuming Diane and Kurt survive the armed police storming the bedroom!

Yes I agree that this series was not as good as the previous ones, mainly because of the character played by Michael Sheen. Anyone know what the reaction is in America to this programme? I’m surprised they get away with some of the comments made about Trump! Any idea when the next series starts?

I recorded these but haven't watched beyond the first episode. Not sure I'll bother – in his first episode Michael Sheen was completely OTT and it looks as if he went even further in later episodes. I liked this show, and the Good Wife as well, for its courtroom scenes, particularly the judges who were quirky without being incredible. I suppose the show has nowhere to go other than becoming more outrageous. As you say superdreen, it's amazing that they get away with it in conservative USA, though I believe it airs on a minority cable channel so isn't as well known there as here.

Well, Helen, approach the final episode with caution if you like quirky but not incredible judges. This one, played by the husband of Kate in This Is Us, was a complete idiot, a send up of various Trump appointed judges I understand. Also, the entertainment world is pretty anti-Trump and so I am not so surprised they got away with it, but just rather bored by it! The episode about Melania, or a fake Melania, asking for their legal help was just beyond awful I thought. And the endless discussions about racial bias in the firm got a bit boring too, now I come to think of it. Gosh, perhaps I didn't even enjoy it as much or as little as I thought I did, LOL.
We did have the cartoon which was censored by the broadcaster for some reason or other, and which they refused to replace and just kept a screen saying this bit has been censored by etc etc . Wasn't it CBS, rather than a minor channel?

On the censored bit; is this the one? In America it is on CBS All Access. But, starts on CBS, itself, in mid June.
