Channel 4 has signed a deal with Sony Pictures Television to acquire all seven seasons of FX’s groundbreaking drama series The Shield for their VOD service All 4.
Every single episode of the show is available to stream as of today.

Oh brilliant! I've only seen a few of these but I've been told it's the same quality as The Wire

I absolutely loved this when it was first shown and then they put the last series or two on really late at night on a channel I couldn't record (before it all went digital). I think that was channel 4 and it really annoyed me as I felt it showed no consideration for the people who had bothered to watch the first five series! I think they did that with the West Wing as well at one point.
What is VOD? Do you have to pay for it?

I think it's View On Demand - basically, online on the C4 website.

I think its channel 4s equivalent to iPlayer etc. Last time I used it (which was years ago) you had to login, but should only take a few minutes to join up, they also have an app. www.channel4.com/programmes/the-shieldThe Shield used to be shown on C5, but I think the later series, they did start to mess around with the time and day it was shown. The West Wing was C4 and they started to mess around with their scheduling. I think More4 was starting around that time, if I remember right, because I remember watching the final of Season 1 and the last line of "who's been hit?" after the assassination attempt and was so pleased that I only had a few days to wait as I think season 1 ended on the Thursday and season 2 started on More4 on the Tuesday. (There wasn't a gap between seasons as C4 was late to the table with the show and the 1st season had already aired on Sky before C4) ...ITV did similar with The Americans and Dexter, changing the channel or not showing it. It's such a pain!

Thanks all, I found The Shield on the Firestick All4 app. But I don't think I shall watch it all again. I googled the last series at the time so know how it ended.
