Absolutely cracking game between Cameroon and NZ! And it's proper put the cat amongst the pigeons when it comes to 3rd place qualifying.

And tonight I shall be supporting Sweden. Cos if they win, the US will be in the opposite side of the draw to us and sharing it with Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and Japan.

Missed the first part of the game but it's a good match so far...

I never watch the US team but I'm keeping an eye on the score. I'm watching the Thai/Chile game as I really want Chile to get through.

This evening's game has been a lot more exciting than this afternoon's. My word, Germany are dull to watch.

The refereeing has been all over the place - absolutely no consistency. For example, sometimes when a ball hits an arm it's been declared handball, at others not. Last night when one player was ahead of the ball and right in front of the goal keeper during an attempt on goal blocking her view, she was judged as not interfering with play and therefore not offside.
Even the VAR judges have been inconsistent. When we've been shown replays from different angles and can clearly see an infrigement, they haven't and vice versa.
Some of the new rules are really stupid, For instance, the the linesmen (sorry referee's assistants) not raising their flags for offside until the ball is static instead of straight away, and the very loose interpretation of handball. I'm sure some of them feel like playing ith their hands firmly behind their backs.
I hope there's some serious reviews on how things can be improved before the next major tournament.
On the plus side, it's great to see women's football being taken seriously.

Are fifa using this tournament to do a big var test? I don’t like the replay of penalties rule , you’d be as well telling the goalkeeper to go have a seat while the striker takes their shot.

I think this is the test of VAR, yes. Trying to get the kinks worked out and see what doesn't work. They have changed the rules on penalties for shoot-outs so I reckon the in-play rule will go back to the old one as well. Penalties are hard enough for keepers as it is.
With handball, defenders are already learning to keep their arms down, often behind their backs. That's how the Norweigan player got away with one yesterday. So I think that rule works, as far is it is interpreted. Once again, human perception can make a huge difference.
The offside rule is a funny one. To me that German defender was almost in the goal! How could she not be interfering with play? Again the perception of the VAR refs.
The major problem for me is how much time it takes. They have to get a lot quicker at it because it can be several minutes of just standing around. Especially for a penalty and that's unfair on striker and keeper.

I saw the Cameroon players were in a huff when VAR said that the goal (2nd) was not offside. they obviously don't know the rules. Not watching it as have tennis on but saw that part. The half time chat was predicting that the Cameroon players would get more physical - after elbowing one England player in the face. Hope it didn't get too bad.

Oh it got bad. There should be 3 players off for Cameroon. One of them for shoving the referee in the back! She didn't even say anything about it. She had no control over the game at all.
And it's a shame because England have played well and scored three beautiful goals. But none of that will be remembered because of the way Cameroon have behaved.
You wouldn't know from the reactions of the England players that we are through to the quarter-finals.

I saw the Cameroon manager and he seemed to be egging the players on. He should have told them to get on with it. I hope FIFA come down on them and don't discipline Phil Neville for his comments at the end
