My take is that everyone of them could be a potential victim whilst at the same time everyone of them could be a perpetrator depending on just who the victim is. The assumption is it's Mark or Vivienne but it doesn't have to be. So far we only know it isn't Mary or Natalie. I think it is very cleverly constructed so far.
Was that Mary we saw curled up, crying on a bed just after Natalie had told her about the marriage? I thought it was although you couldn't see her face. If it was her why was she quite so heartbroken as to be sobbing like that?
I guessed it was filmed somewhere around the Eastbourne area as we have seen a few shots of Beachy Head and its lighthouse and the Seven Sisters cliff formation is very distinctive. It's a wonderful piece of coastline.
I am so looking forward to the next installment tonight.

The victim is also not Jake, from tonight’s episode, so that can only leave Mark, or Vivien ?

Have to say I'm quite gripped. The odds are now so stacked against Mark that he can't be a villain, can he?
Interesting that all three obnoxious children are trying to sort themselves out, though Helen and Jake are not being very successful!
Love the fact that Stella turns out to be a solicitor, and Vivien's solicitor at that!

Yes, we've been drawn along by Vivien's offspring and Mary into believing he is, but the evidence so far has all been circumstantial with no definite proof of anything. I suppose it's possible we never do get to find out whether he's a goodie or a baddie, and the series has all been about people being only too ready to believe ill of him because of the negative impact his arrival has on their own lives.
I thought at first that Jake was attacking Mark at the end, but back-tracking and freeze-framing shows I got it the wrong way round - Mark punched Jake to the ground. No doubt goaded into it by Jake!
That amused me. Mary was right to ask what Mark's wife died of! None of them seem to have much luck with their partners. Vivien's first husband died after an illness, Mary's walked out on her, Mark's committed suicide (officially), Helen's looks like leaving her, Natalie's given up on Tony. Jake and Leila, whose marriage was said at the start to be in trouble, could end up the only couple left.

It certainly begins to look more and more that the victim will be Mark or Vivienne.
I can't get over the way Mary is able to walk in to Vivienne's house at will! I live in a tiny village and am very friendly with my neighbours but we all still knock/ring the bell and wait when we call on each other. We also keep keys for each other but never use them unless asked to. Mary is a very scary person.
I was surprised to see that Stella was the solicitor Mark and Vivienne were visiting.....and then shocked that she passed on confidential information to Jake.
For me this is the most gripping thing that's been on television for a long time and whilst I want to find out what it's all been about I am going to miss it after tonight.

When I was a child and lived in a village, my mother's friends would always knock, call out at the door but walk in as well. And we did the same. But I doubt it would happen now.
When Mary was sobbing, I think she is heartbroken that Vivienne is leaving because she loves her and the rest of the family. I dont think it is sexual but they are her world.

Yes, that's my take exactly (except I'm slightly more inclined than you to think her love for Vivien is sexual - but if it is, Vivien isn't aware).

It has occurred to me this morning that what we keep seeing being wheeled out of the house might not be a body. It's the blue plastic wrapping that is making me think that way. It looks more like a large, unwieldy parcel that has been wrapped and taped up. Surely, that wouldn't be done with a person, either injured or dead. My imagination hasn't got as far as thinking what kind of inanimate object of that size it could be though.

So is this not the end? Will there be a second series?
And Mark’s daughter does exist!

I have really, really enjoyed it but I think this is one instance when things should be left as they are and not resolved in another series. I thought that final moment was the pefect way to end it. I actually laughed!

Very good! And I would welcome a second series, which if it happens would probably be a bit different - less of a whodunnit (or whodunwhat?), more about relationships and possibly things from the past dug up.

Yes I agree. I was surprised by both the final shot and the actual whodunwhat. Very well performed too, I thought.

Good to see too that those objectionable offspring of Vivian’s got their comeuppance...one way or another.
