This is a mare so far, I don't think anything has been brilliant so far. All down to the showstopper.

I thought they were going to say something like Alice's mother had been diagnosed with something awful! Not just delayed travelling home.
David all the way for me tonight.

Agree - David is quietly competent.
I feel for Steph - it all fell apart....
and the winner is....
DAVID!!!!

Why on earth did Steph use cold water in her ban marie? She saw what the others were doing....
But soufflé is something anyone in a contest like this should be able to make.

I liked the photos of them all meeting up. Michael was in nearly every photo. He will keep that group going!! Good for him. I thought David was already living with Nik, if not married.

Sure I read that Alice and Henry are an item...
The 'what happened next' bit is lovely.
I enjoyed the junior version when it was on the BBC so am looking forward to seeing it back.

Watched Junior Bake-off today for first time, seems to be 5 days a week for 3 weeks. Some very competent young cooks.

I'm amazed and awestruck by these youngsters. So competent for so young an age. Coping with a tight schedule, cameras and baking!
One thing I noticed is that they all have that young "clumsiness" - their young still forming bodies have arms and hands that don't quite work in tandem with their brains! Cakes drop and slip and there are lots of "oops" and " it's ok no one saw that"
The young lad who went out last night (Tuesday) was constantly cuddling a teddy. He was lovely and was so upset to be out. There are a lot of tears. Hope they cope with the pressure of fame!

These kids are just brilliant. Between 9 and 15 years old they are baking stuff I've never tried and never will. I am so impressed. Before Bake Off I'd never even heard of the word Ganache (?) and these kids are whipping it up as easily as Angel Delight.

It is as easy to make as Angel Delight, easier than a cake anyway - everything in the pan and keep stirring.

Caramac? I didn't know you could still buy that. I used to love that (I've got a sweet tooth).
Christmas Bake off was back yesterday on E4 (I assume it's repeated and on catch up), and there's another one next week. Nice to see some old contestants again.

Sandi is leaving Bake Off to concentrate on other projects?
Who will replace her?

Have seen some suggestions on social media for replacements for Sandi , these included Miriam Margolyes or Davina McCaul. I avoid any programme that they are on.
