I don't mind different cakes and breads. It is the theming and the decorating. Last year was like a cake decorating competition. A Polish chocolate cake (not going to attempt to write it), with meringue in the mix and brandy in the cream is just nice, but not if they have to make it look like their last holiday.

Yes I fully agree with that. A favourite holiday, an experience which made you the person you are today, someone you admired in childhood, all similar stuff is not what I want in cake form.

I love the trailer for the new series. Very clever I think.

Well, that was better. Swiss Roll and chocolate fudge cake. Yes, they had a decorating section. Other than that most of us could have a go at making these.
I remember doing vertical Swiss Roll cakes at school. We did chocolate ones like the Cadbury's cakes you get at Easter and Christmas.

I watched it to see how Alison did. She fitted right in. Still not keen on Noel but having a woman as a co-host does make him less silly.

I could do without the silly sniggering over perfectly ordinary words

I am not a great fan of Alison but thought she did very well and was a good fit with Noel. I thought some of the animal cakes looked great, especially the sheep, duck, beaver and robin (three times as big as a killer whale 😂😂). Poor Amos, he seemed like a lovely chap. Saku (sp?) got on my nerves a bit but all in all it was very enjoyable.

Biscuit week was good, then they made them do illusion bakes. Is it just me. I hate them. I don't want almond and cherry shortcake to look like a burger. In the end it was about decorating and building again.
I do not have a favourite yet, or even a couple of favourites.

Yeah.... if they keep this up, I shall be dropping it again.

I thought it would have been nice for them to be asked to make a celebration box of biscuits. Some filled, decorated or coated to celebrate a theme of their choice. Everyone gets the same size box and they have to make 6 of each type.
Along to the lines of boxes we'd buy in supermarkets. The theme could have been wonderful and of their choice, instead we got biscuits masquerading a steak pie!

I find the sight food masquerading as some other kind of food very off-putting and wouldn't ever want to eat it.
