Dear BBC,
Why oh why are you showing a repeat of the repeat of the one shown on 4th May today ,the 24th May
Yours faithfully ,
Mrs Trellis .
(And it has that annoying Natasha in it.)

I noticed the double repeat.....very odd.
Got an email from a company that sells ornaments, china etc, headed up
"As seen on Bargain Hunt - Anita Harris pottery!"
Full marks for advertising, I suppose.

They do Tweets as well: As if being on Bargain Hunt was a sign of anything. Much of the time, the stuff they buy makes a loss. Having seen it, I certainly wouldn't buy it. I think there was only one design that would pass muster in our household. Natasha Raskin's okay. Not the best, but by no means the worst.

I prefer BH to Cash in the Attic which relies on people just happening to have valuable items on their homes. BH is just a bit of fun - with the occasional surprising profit for one lucky team.
I love when ghastly things are described as "a conversation piece".
As in "why the hell did you buy THAT?!?"

There seems to be an increasing trend of the so called experts giving duff advice. Today (18 1 18) an old valve mounted on a wooden base was described as a light bulb. Perhaps the experts and the production crew were all too young to remember what a thermionic valve actually was used for.
Yesterday the homemade dolls house and the modern metal post box were clearly poor choices.
Not a big issue but raises a concern about the quality of the other advice given.

Just turned on, to watch news, and today it has Tim Wanacott presenting,it is the 3rd repeat, having checked.
This programme must be as cheap as chips to make, but surely it has had its day and should be auctioned off?
Must be better programming, rather than this default stuff.

I'm increasingly irritated by the experts more or less railroading the contestants into buying what is obviously their choice. Richard Madley is the worst.

Who is responsible for the 'revamp' of the programme broadcast today (15.3.19). Was it perhaps a trainee producer on work experience and the programme was broadcast by mistake? Surely no one in a senior position considered the changes to be needed or of sufficient merit to bother with?
For those of you who missed it they have introduced a number of changes - minimum spend on one item, compulsory buying of a specified type of item and, most futile of all, an attempt to introduce tension into the outcome of the expert's buy.

It will take a bit of getting used to but I am glad that it has been slightly revamped - surely meaning the show is not being ditched all together?
The minimum spend item is a good idea - some contestants are complete cheapskates!

There is also the music during the auction! I only watch the last 15 minutes of the show, but I won't be watching it at all in future, it is too annoying.

Celebrating it's 20th Anniversary this week (and last). I didn't know David (The Duke) Dickinson had been on it. How young they all were. Even Michael Hogben (Dickinson's Real Deal) had been on it. I see our male experts Thomas Forester (once Plant), David Harper and Charles Hanson have all got beards now. Quite enjoyed going down Memory Lane.

I'm more surprised by Thomas Plant's new name. I've googled the heck out of it and I'm none the wiser. Guessing a new marriage, but why take the new wife's name? I'm now divorced, but still going by my married name as I want to avoid confusion with my sons' surnames. Not sure what I'll do once I'm remarried.
