I have a Roku box and a Freesat-type dish.
On Roku, I've tried NowTV - both their movies and General entertainment packages - but have just decided to give the Amazon Prime service a try since they did a special offer on a year's membership, back in May. I like Prime so far. You get a good selection of OD TV programs and movies. I have this until at least May next year.
I'd be interested in other opinions.

I already had Amazon Prime because I shop with Amazon a lot. The savings on delivery alone more than pay for what I get. Because of that, I have both their video and music services, enabling me to stream and download a lot of stuff at no extra cost.
At the moment I am watching Bosch, and am thinking about watching Viking, though I found Arrow too boring for my taste. I will have to catch up with Outlander, as well.

I have Amazon Prime. It's amazing how much you use the delivery service, once you know it's there, but sometimes it seems too speedy - do I really need it that quickly? - sort of thing.
I think the film selection is pretty weak, but then so it is for Netflix. I haven't really found a TV series I like on there, I thought I'd watched Mad Men but maybe I am confused as it's only available for rental now. Prime did have some later series of SpongeBob SquarePants, which my son loves. Not sure will continue with the Amazon Prime renewal.
It is handy to be able to rent the odd film through Amazon (Video?), whether or not you have a Prime account.

I would agree that, if you are getting it just for the videos, it may not be value for money; it is something that you would have to look into carefully before going for it. I find the next day delivery service very useful, as it is free and, as I say, it more than pays for itself, so the videos (the subject of this thread) and the music are a bonus. I do not really care that I won't be watching most of the stuff, there is enough there to keep me happy, and for many, it won't be the case. Some have said that they will get it for the new Clarkson, Hammond, May programme. If that is all they are getting it for, I would be more tempted to say don't, unless it is a matter of life and death.

I too have Amazon Prime and am watching Preacher as it comes on. I have, in the past, watched Under The Dome (peculiar), Grimm and have to catch up with Outlander. I am not enjoying Outlander this series as much. I have read three of the books and gave up on them as I got bogged down in the story!
I only pay £5.99 a month as I don't buy enough (or any) things from Amazon to warrant paying the top charge. I like it spread over the year too.
I am enjoying using my Now TV box which my grandchildren bought me for my birthday, including a six month entertainment pass.

We are thoroughly enjoying The Vikings....it's great. We tend to start series once they've finished.....I've wasted many hours of great series that have been cut short, so am not falling for that again.... I am also working my way through Battlestar Galactica which I missed the first time round. It's so good.....

Not sure. All I know is that the actor who played Apollo in the 1970s series appears in another role in the new series. I wasn't aware there was a film as well. Will go googling.

I agree about series that have been cut short, or gone from terrestrial to Subscription. It is very frustrating.

I liked the film of BSG but have never seen the series ..are any stars of the film in the series? Do you mean 'Razor', or 'The Plan' (which I'm not sure I've watched myself), or the original from 1978, rolled out to capitalise on the success of 'Star Wars'? This version, with Olmos, Bamber and Sackhoff, is a remake of the Lorne Green original film and consequent series, so apart from cameo appearances like Harry Hamlin's, they are completely separate entities.

And I think there was another one ('Blood & Chrome'?) with D'artagnian from 'The Musketeers' playing a young Adama...

The 78 version of BSG was rubbish, IMO.
