I’ve been seeing adverts for repeats of the hospital drama ER but I can’t find it anywhere on my programme guide. Unfortunately I can’t remember what day or time but I do remember it was on More 4. I’ve been through the whole week but can’t find it. Can anyone help? Longing to see George Clooney again at his best!

I would love to see that again! Have you checked the C4 website?

It's free to use, just a quick sign up and login...or it used to be.

That channel only shows the first 4 series and then loops them. Or it did the last time I watched it.

Loved ER especially in the early and mid seasons of its run. In later seasons - despite still having a large ensemble cast - they focused too many episodes on just a few characters. I used to complain that at one point they should change the name to "The Abby Show" made doubly frustrating by the fact that I never cared much for Abby. She was always dour and constantly frowning. After Abby left, for whatever reason they switched the main focus to the other woman who never smiled "Sam" Heck even Luka went from playing bumpity bump with Abby to moving in with Sam. Why they never gave proper story arcs to Kerry Weaver is a mystery. Did they ever even explain for example why she walks with a cane? If they did I don't remember. I'm sure they spent more time showing Abby frowning and either sleeping with Luka or arguing with him. I would have liked to have seen more story on Romano too. A proper bastard he was but I am sure he had other sides to him as well. And the one time they feature him and its the helicopter scene! All in all a great series that got a little soapy towards the end. I think Mark Green was my favorite character.

Carol Hathaway was my favourite. I really missed her when she went.
If I remember rightly, Carrie Weaver walked with a cane cos she had hip dysplasia. I think. She kept putting off the operation but then she finally did it. And when she came back to the ER, she walked down the main corridor and they were all so busy that no-one noticed!

Wow thank you Miranda. I don't remember that episode at all. I always though she and Romano could have made an interesting couple.
But they were both probably too headstrong.
Yes Carol Hathaway and George Clooney were a good couple.
I didn't care much for the chemistry between Mark Green and Alex Kingston.
Carter and "Deb" I liked them too, even if they weren't technically a couple.

Did Benson do Weaver's surgery? He would have probably been off the show by then but he occasionally turned up in guest appearances.

No, I don't think so. I think she went to a completely different hospital because she didn't want anyone knowing what she was about to do. The Head of the Hospital, whoever that was by then, knew and gave her the time off.

And wasn't Benton a cardio-throacic surgeon?

She came out about halfway through the series, I think. Fell in love with a firefighter and they had a baby boy and then the firefighter died on a shout. Very sad story.

And wasn't Benton a cardio-throacic surgeon? He may have been. A lot of the terminology goes over my head. I know he was quite arrogant and probably figured he was capable of any sort of surgery. I'm not entirely sure how it all works in the ER but I recall in early seasons he was the surgeon on call for the ER and it seemed he took cases that were not only chest related? Perhaps he was just doing triage and then turning over to specislists.

I totally forgot Kerry came out as gay but as soon as you mentioned Miranda it rang a bell.
The fire fighter was Latina or mixed race? And yes tragic ending.
