Fish cakes (Asda cod ones aren't bad, from the chiller), probably loads of salad as it's so warm and sunny. May even eat outside.

Dunno about you peeps, but this wretched oppressive heat puts me off eating much. Yesterday a Weetabix with milk (breakfast): apple, satsuma and banana (snackage spread over the day): burger roll with cheese spread, tomatoes and baby pickled onions (supper, eaten in two sittings). And a couple of marshmallows with my hot chocolate Oh and do milky/yogurt-based drinks count as food? cos I had about a third of a bottle of Yop as well..as far as I remember!

Started an attempt at 5:2 so had nothing yesterday until 7pm when I had a bag of mushroom stirfry veggies with added ginger & soy sauce, followed by a nectarine and a satsuma.
Feeling pretty hungry now but shall hold out for proper dinner of lamb chop roasted with new potatoes, red onion, peppers, baby courgettes and olives with some herbs, a sort of Mediterranean traybake I suppose. More fruit for after.

Nothing at all interesting today - half a plate of sausage and mash for lunch (too hot to fancy that) and then some vegetable soup followed by yoghurt and an apple for dinner.
Yesterday, though, my brother gave me a Tescos Finest Paella with chorizo, chicken and prawns. Ate half of it warm for lunch, and the rest cold for dinner. Very nice either way - in fact, one of the best supermarket prepared meals I've had, I think. (A little sweet, as these things often are, which was probably down to the peppers.)

Max and I shared a Charlie Bigham's macaroni cheese this evening. I do like that range. Well, I've only had the macaroni, but it's delicious!

The Charlie Binghams range is very good. I has a piece of salmon, new potatoes, asparagus & samphire with a small amount of butter over the veggies. "Fast" day tomorrow so it's a maximum of 500 cals. Normally I would have a couple of poached eggs on toast for a low calorie meal but you are not meant to have carbs - or at least keep them to a minimum in a fast day

Had the only fish I am able to eat, tonight, a nice proper tuna steak topped with ginger and spring onion, short-grained rice and natto.

Soybeans fermented with Bacillus subtilis var. natto.
I should add that it is an acquired taste.

Tender lamb and rosemary with steamed vegetables. That's what it said on the tin and I was tempted, seemed too good for the dog. Thought better of it though and had a Chinese takeaway.

~The Chinese sounds a much nicer option - I love a good Chow Mein!
Have actually managed to prepare and cook a simple main meal, the first I've had since leaving hospital a week ago - carrots, broccoli and a Quorn Southern Fried Escalope, with instant gravy (made with the boiling veg water). May not seem like a great achievement but for me it certainly was - and I enjoyed it too

Yay!!! Good for you Mal. Glad you enjoyed it. Hospital food can be pretty iffy at the best of times.

Good that you are getting a bit of your appetite Mal - you need those lovely veggies to help your body recover.
Salmon again for me (there were two filets in the pack). This time I had it with green beans, tomaoties and olives with some mustard vinegarette. It was very tasty.
