Yay!!! Good for you Mal. Glad you enjoyed it. Hospital food can be pretty iffy at the best of times. Actually, Cake, the food there was better than last time (2010) so it wasn't the grub in itself that was the problem, it was my anorexia rearing its very ugly head, telling me (like it does) that if I control my food intake I'll feel more powerful (and all that jazz). Some folk still think it's all about looking like models - no way, hosay. So much more than that, and probably beyond the scope of this thread!
Any road up, now I am feeling more in control of my own life generally after a rather *ahem!* hectic week, am able to (hopefully) resume some of my normal routines, eating included...
Dee, your meal sounds very Mediterranean (I had to Google the spelling ) and healthy

It was nice and I would have it again. Only on pan too. I am trying to drop a few excess pounds because I couldn't get my smaller jeans on (& they ain't small by anyone's standards) so am doing my best to eat more healthily and frugally during the week and saving the cheese, crusty bread and other lovely things for Fri-Sun.

Breakfast first. A simple one. I really don't like a big breakfast first thing; so probably just cereal.

I've just had a delicious cheesy thing. It was called a cheese twist and was like a croissant with cheese in it. From the in-store bakery. Lovely!

That's quite a dinner Nickbrighton. Can't imagine how you can stand to have the oven on & pans boiling in this heat but as you already have, you may courier a large plateful to me

Food always tastes nicer on holiday, I reckon!
Tonight for me it's a 'ping meal' (microwave only required) - 'Iceland' own brand kedgeree (haddock, egg and basmati rice). Looking forward to it muchly

Sorry sqwerty, I'm afraid that's an urban myth. It's called a popty microdon. Of course it might be a bit of welsh slang these days, but popty means 'oven' and microdon means microwave

Today, I will mostly be eating pork pie (with egg), a bit of salad and some smoked German cheese. And I have a nice bottle of red to go with it.
