Could be an interesting day tomorrow at the Test. Until Root was out just before close it was going well for England. Suppose he was due a bad day after his last few big scores, hope someone else will do well tomorrow!

Worse than I’d feared  My newspaper is suggesting that Jimmy will be too tired to play in the final match at Old Trafford, which means his Test career will have ended today. I hope they’re wrong because there’s a devoted band of fans who would like to make sure that if this is the end they can give him a good send-off |

Nor can I, but he can’t force them to pick him…. Aggers more upbeat just now, says he will bounce back and turn up on Thursday ready to play on Friday  |

So that’s the 2021 season over.. Shame it ended with ignominious defeat for my team in the Bob Willis Trophy but I shall just be happy they finished second in the Championship! Now we have the Ashes to look forward to….. or do we?? |
