Just watching the second innings and am impressed at the crowd for women's cricket. TBH I'm not a lover of the wham bam style but this seems to be entertaining everyone. And the best thing is how many small girls there are in the crowd. If it gets more girls into cricket and expands the game, that's all good.

I also like the explanations of the bowls and the hits and how the game works. Good introduction for those new to the game. And as it's Greg James narrating them, the BBC are obviously going for the younger market rather than the fuddy duddies!  |

A young lady burst into song at half time!
I only saw the first half but liked it. Moved at a good pace and the commentators were excellent.
Decent attendance too by the look of things.

Apparently some of the died in the wool newspaper critics who were cynics are admitting there was a great atmosphere and the play was excellent.

Good for the girls, some really good cricket. First men’s match tonight. However I’m more concerned that the men’s teams include so many county players while the One Day Cup matches start today. My team - Gloucestershire - will be without 6 players who are in the Hundred, and most other counties will be similarly affected.
