Well I didn’t think much to the final. I wanted Christiaan to win! Poor old Dylan lost it and Georgie did finish well but day 1 wasn’t that great. Also, what is the point of a hanging cake? Why not just make a superb three tier cake instead of ramming a pole through it? Lovely Mike has hosted them all at his farm. Of course he has! He was lovely.

I think Christaan lost it with his raspberry and liquorice filling, both judges said they wouldn't be able to finish a slice. Dylan lost it because he doesn't read the brief properly and he doesn't have the background skill. What was he doing making that massive batch of Genoese and not mixing the lumps. That's why the layers weren't the same depth because he'd been picking the lumps off.

Mind you I noted Dylan had a job in a Michelin starred restaurant, I bet someone gave him a reference. He'll need a lot of supervision to stay focussed.
