I binged the series a couple of days ago. I found the first 3 episodes really gripping and frighteningly believable, but I thought the finale was a let down. It seemed differently paced from the others, and suddenly had characters behaving I thought out-of-character, and contained a number of things that I found over-convenient and unbelievable, or at least unlikely.

I'm guessing the writer got bogged down and couldn't think of a proper ending so wrote any old crap?

Several loose ends.
1. How did they have an open day without anyone of her neighbours noticing? 2. How did Fi crush the sleeping pills and put them in Mike's wine without him noticing?
Otherwise it was an intriguing storyline.

Yes indeed. That was one of my moments of disbelief. Did she happen to have a pestle and mortar in the flat? Would the huge number of pills she said she'd added actually all dissolve and not leave a white sludge at the bottom of the glass and/or bottle?

Pestle and mortar or two tea spoons?

I felt all along that it would end badly as in unhappily ..... but not quite that badly, as in a weak story! It was obvious from the way he was taken ill so quickly after drinking it that Fi had put something in the wine but I couldn't work out what it could be as she hadn't seemed to out anything in the glass. I assume that after luring him to the flat with an exchange of texts she then doctored the whole bottle of wine after pouring a drink for herself otherwise she could never have concealed that number of tablets in a single glassful. When she and the neighbour were hatching the lies to explain the body in the flat by saying there were two men, one called Toby who she'd been dating and the body in the flat who she'd never seen before, the weakness was that it would be easy for the police to prove they were the same man .... and so it quickly turned out to be! Such a shame that an otherwise gripping series had such a weak ending.

I suppose we must blame the author of the book for the ending - and the rest of it.

I still don’t know how the gruesome twosome knew Bram had caused that crash, or did he even do that? Did they cause it? If they were in a road rage incident, and drove off at speed like they did, how did they find his car registration, name and address? It would be a nightmare let alone if you were bombing along at about 90mph.
I thought Merle the friend was looking very suspicious in the closing scenes so wondered if in fact she was in the counter bluff with Bram but it seems not.

I think Bram didn’t necessarily cause the crash, although he certainly felt guilty. Has anyone read the book? I wondered if they had done this before and stalked Bram.

How Toby/Mike and his girlfriend knew who Fi and Bram were and where they lived puzzled me too.I still think it was OK until the last episode when I expected that to be explained. The fact that it wasn't ruined everything that had gone before. The Telegraph TV critic panned it in today's paper, giving it one star and most of the reader online comments agreed. However, the author of the original book (which I haven't read) posted that she was pleased with how true to her book the adaptation had been.

They were in the other car and took a photo of him when he stepped out of his car after the crash. Then they drove off. How they traced him afterwards is a bit of a mystery unless he was targeted beforehand. Muddled ending I agree but I enjoyed it.

Started watching this last night. Seen two episodes. I keep pausing it to discuss bits that puzzle me. Glad to see others here puzzled by the same things.
