I absolutely hated this! In fact I was so hot and bothered after the journey and sitting through act 1 that I left at the interval. And the lady from our group sitting next to me did as well. I think we were in the minority though as people seemed to be enjoying it and it was pretty full.
The lady next to me, also Marion, hated the puppets which she found very distasteful and unsuitable for children (there were a lot in the audience) given the way the hyena attacked the others. Personally I thought the lead actor was dreadful and would rather have liked the hyena to have finished him off. I just wanted to brave the Tube, get home and have a shower, so I did! To be fair, some of the staging was pretty nifty, and the puppeteers did quite a good job. But the acting was pretty average at best imho. Never mind, you win some….
