Over to Kingston yesterday for this. I think the tour may be coming to an end though. Susie Blake played Miss Marple, Sophie Ward played the movie star and Joe McFadden her director husband. Susie Blake was good, Sophie Ward was OK and Joe McFadden was, as usual, miscast. I have seen him three times and he always seems wrong for his character, and I do wish he would stop throwing in dance moves whenever he appears!
Most of my group disliked this and amazingly I was the one who quite enjoyed it. They found it very bitty and this was because a lot of it unfurled in flashback when Miss Marple was being updated on events. This was suddenly replayed in her sitting room without so much as a lighting change so you did wonder why people were bursting in. It did have some charm and some humour though. I did wonder if anyone unfamiliar with the plot would find it easy to follow though. And there was one scene where Miss Marple was questioning the movie star about her reproductive history where you wondered why the star didn’t just say “Mind your own business, you old bat!”.
There was reasonable but not overly enthusiastic applause at the end.

Sounds an odd way to do it.
