The sister's house is large and looks expensive. How'd we know they weren't well off to start with and if you are single with no children you can spend what you want on yourself. I can decide I am having a new coat and that I will live on omelettes and beans (for example) for the rest of the month because I don't have to ask anyone or use my money for anyone else.

I think the actor playing James/Fraser looks like a young Benedict Cumberbatch.
My problem, now, is I want someone to write a series about Atticus Punt!

He was in that drama set in Vienna where he dresses like Herr Flick. His lover in this was his dad in that!

There was a letter in the RT commenting on her lovely clothes and asking if Lesley Manville kept them. She did! Well most of them. It’s quite trippy this isn’t it? One minute an actor is playing character A, then character B. I wonder, when on a commercial channel, was this change separated by the commercial breaks? I’m enjoying it though and will watch some more tonight.

He was in that drama set in Vienna where he dresses like Herr Flick. His lover in this was his dad in that! I knew I knew him from somewhere! I liked him very much in this too. I thoroughly enjoyed this, a nice change from the usual fare. Very well made and acted I thought, so 👍👍. I did guess the modern whodunnit but not the Atticus Pund one (that anagram! Dearie me!). Great stuff.

I was watching an old episode of Endeavour this week and saw he was in that too. The manager of a department store selling ladies stocking that were being used to strangle women.

I’ve just watched the last episode, as I’m away at the weekend. I was totally wrong about whodunnit, in the real world and in the novel. Despite that, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed this series.

Final episode was broadcast last night. I was right about the present day villain but like most people completely clueless about the novel ending. I found the anagram part of it a bit weak, but it probably works better in the novel. And did we ever find out what the connection was with magpies other than something beginning with 'm' and an excuse for lots of footage of pretty birds?
I loved seeing Susan's interactions with Atticus and her watching the novel play out.

I read somewhere there is going to be a second series, Moonflower (?) Murders which I hope comes to BBC1. No details though.

Yes, I've heard that too. So we will find out if she does go to Crete.

I hope it happens. There’s not enough of these “unusual” crime dramas being made.

I had the right murderers in both scenarios. There was absolutely no reason for the little boy to drown/be drowned and introduce the entire family otherwise. If the son hadn't been involved we didn't need to meet any of them.
The publisher was just a logical guess, for similar reasons. He'd only have been in one episode if he genuinely hadn't been involved.

A new series has been commissioned. It will be called Moonflower Murders. Lesley Manville will once again be the lead.
