Well for me that opening ceremony was pants. Never let it be said that Allo Allo is stereotypical nation insulting comedy. At least it is comedy, and even if you don't want to, you laugh. Good Moaning!
This ceremony appeared to be based in 1950 and was full of characatures of cycling baguette delivery men in vests and berets and gamin girls twittering around in Dior's New Look.
Then we got some modern gyration and gymnastics.
That and it took forever.
Oh and never let it be said that our supporters are rude during ceremonies. The French crowd were shocking.

You could fast forward to Macron posing nonchalantly against the podium whilst the crowd boo and be thankful we've never got a PM to open a national sporting event. That's what we have a Royal Family for!

I never bothered with the opening ceremony, but the match was good. New Zealand looked shocked by the end. I admit I was distracted- I had the radio on listening to the Scotland football game.

Well that was unexpected. 14 man England convincingly defeating Argentina who have recently claimed the scalps of Australia and SA.

Best game so far was Fiji v Australia yesterday. So pleased for Fiji!
Watched half an hour of the England game but was bored to death. A kick every two minutes is not entertaining.

Ireland v South Africa was attritional. I actually thought lifting someone up was now illegal, apparently not, only if you drop them on their head.

Watching the game now. Why can't Ireland play decent line outs? It's been going on for years. Different players, different coaches but it doesn't matter. 3/4 of their lineouts are crap. Is it genetic?

I have the France Italy match on and it’s now 31 - 0 to France. Is it just me or is anyone else uncomfortable with these scores 84-0 etc?
Ok 1 team is a lot more skilled than the other but it feels unfair imo
I obviously don’t know what the French players are saying to the Italians but when 1 makes the “money” sign at an angry Italy player you wonder if they are goading them as well.

Entertaining match between Argentina and Japan. Could have gone either way. An average England side have a great chance of reaching the semis as they avoid the big four.
