I agree with the Independent review. There isn't one thing you can grasp, one central idea that will be the focus. I think the writer tried to outdo Shetland and went too far. The latter wasn't as convoluted in the first series so we as viewers had time to adapt. But this is laying on the madness too thickly for me. I'm not getting the chance to care about anyone.

I have binged and am as perplexed by the ending as I was with The Gone. Looking for help when everyone who's watching has seen all of it!

I think I’ve given up, I was going to watch last night but got stuck into my book. I too will be interested in a synopsis when it’s all finished next week and people have seen it.

I’m still enjoying it, but I think that is largely down to the lead actress. I think she is very good. As to the plot… no idea! I can’t decide if it is going down the toxic waste route or the supernatural/horror route.

I agree with you Marion, I think the lead actress is great, but I’ve lost the plot somewhere!

OK, so the whole thing has been broadcast now. Anyone any the wiser?! So many questions, and clearly set up for a second series which is an increasing and rather annoying trend.
I did wonder if Linda the inspector was in on it, whatever 'it' was. She certainly did not behave professionally, but then no one else did either apart from Riya, and I do wonder if the whole thing was a metaphor for something I'm not clever enough to grasp!

Well I gave up after episode 3 (I think). The whole setting and tone of the series was depressing me. I don’t mind watching a scary story or a sad one, but I watch TV to be entertained, and this just didn’t do it

So…. It was about a sinister video game then? So… what was the thing that escaped from the bread van and what was the significance of the plant from the Far East? And all that black gunk which the girl kept bringing up?

So many questions, and we still know no answers even after watching it all! Well, not all of them anyway. Guess we’ll just have to watch the next series - assuming there will be one!

Even in Heartbeat they would only investigate missing bins if it was some posh bloke who complained. They only got a DI in for a murder or armed robbery? Mind you there were a lot of them.

It is a real shame they didn’t condense some of it and give it a proper ending. If they don’t renew it (and it hasn’t had a great response) it is never resolved and I wonder if there is enough left in the current story to flesh out into a whole series. Basically we have been given a cut price version of Squid Game without the expense of creating a Squid Game.

I kept watching but goodness knows why. I was confused for much of the time, as it flitted like a butterfly between characters I had some trouble remembering from earlier episodes. After last night's one, I thought at least it will all be explained by the end - and then realised this was the end! The series has been a chaotic mess.
