Murray through in the tennis doubles. Our man 4th in the swimming medley (for the third time in Olympics, poor chap) but the French superstar Marchand (who seemed lovely in his promo) won by a country mile.

Sad Peaty did not get the gold but nothing wrong with silver. There are always new athletes coming along, ready to break records and snatch top medals.
I enjoyed the woman's skateboarding, archery, swimming and equestrian cross country today.

Tom Daley this morning, 🫶. I’m going offline for a bit so I don’t know the result. What else is on? Gymnastics and equestrian? That’s my day lost then, 😂😂. I was so determined not to give in then one look at that pool in HD when you can see the individual drops and I was lost.
Steve van Der Rapist is being criticised all round. Apparently the Dutch are very defensive of him and their journalists really aggressive to British media, asking why they were making such a fuss!!😮 I’d have expected better of The Netherlands actually, they don’t seem to be a throwback culture do they? Apparently he is the only competitor who is not required to attend a press conference. God, that would be a bun fight and a half wouldn’t it?

I forgot to mention something that annoyed me (never!!) yesterday. Our judo lady medal hope had just got knocked out and was really crying, not just upset. So the BBC interview her and ask her how she is feeling! I mean WTAF! I know it always happens but it is just so senseless. I’m sure I wasn’t the only person yelling “really happy” at the TV.

Silver for Tom and Noah! Hurrah! Obviously the Chinese were first.
He is so articulate isn’t he, Tom? Poor old Noah couldn’t answer a question about his late coach as he was crying and told Tom to answer which he did so well. I am always impressed by his ability to speak freely and coherently to camera compared to many others.
Better crack on with some other stuff now!

Gold in the mountain biking! Unfortunately it was a bit lairy with a Frenchman who was overtaken to come second, so our winner was roundly booed by the crowd. Even louder than Steve van Der Rapist !
