I stumbled across these 3 episodes on More 4. Unfortunately I didn't note when it was made.
I found it very interesting. It's not trying to prove a person called King Arthur actually existed. It explores the time period after the Romans leave, or do they?
It also looks at whether the Anglo-Saxons ever existed at that time and whether they actually invaded. Was this all spin by Bede or has anyone found any evidence of invasion in the British Isles.
Everyone seemed to be bona fide specialists and historians.
I enjoyed it and wonder if we'll stop saying Anglo-Saxon as I believe most uni history depts have already done.
We can all be happily British at least until Æthelstan comes along and then when we become English.
